Minutes - 05/15/2008 - Police Pension Fund BoardVILLAGE OF OAK BROOK BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE POLICE PENSION FUND - Minutes May 15, 2008 UNOFFICIAL UNTIL APPROVED AS WRITTEN OR AS AMENDED BY BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE POLICE PENSION FUND ON 1 CALL TO ORDER The Annual Members Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Oak Brook Police Pension Fund was called to order by President Birdsall at 7 20 p m at the Bath & Tennis Clubhouse of the Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club, 800 Oak Brook Road, Oak Brook, Illinois Re- elected members, Robert Birdsall and Richard Badowski, newly elected member, Velia Torlo and re- appointed member, Alan Feldman, were all sworn in by Deputy Village Clerk, Carol Harty, prior to the start of the meeting 2 ROLL CALL The roll was called with the following persons PRESENT President Birdsall, Secretary Feldman, Trustee Badowski ABSENT Vice President Hall, Trustee Templeton left pnor to start of meeting IN ATTENDANCE Velia Torlo, MB Financial Representatives Terese Krafcheck, Robert Thompson, James Hrabak 3 APPROVAL OF MINUTES 4 NEW BUSINESS a MB Financial Investment Management Presentation for the period of January 1, 2008 through April 30, 2008 Mr Thompson and Mr Hrabak summarized the current market stating that the housing market is still in a deep slump, but the economy has been able to weather the storm respectably Mr Hrabak stated that, unlike the last recession, a strong rebound is not predicted, even though the market is beginning to behave as though the worst is behind us He stated that on a more positive note, the fixed income market (especially Treasuries) look to give back some of its recent returns and equities continue to look attractive, especially emerging markets The Money Market return for the first quarter was 0 86 %, Fixed Income return was 3 66 %, Equity return was -9 10 %, with a total account return of -1 80% The current portfolio allocation of The Fund for Money Market was 1 %, Fixed Income Securities were 58% and the Equity Securities was 41% The equity sector allocation for Large Capitalization US Stocks was 60 %, Small Capitalization US Stocks was 17 %, International Stocks was 18% and REIT Fund was 5% Since inception the annual long -term portfolio performance was 7 26 %, stocks 5 9 %, bonds 5 9% and T- bills 3 77% 5 ADJOURNMENT Motion by Trustee Badowski, seconded by Secretary Feldman, to adjourn the meeting at p m VOICE VOTE Motion carried ATTEST /s/ Alan Feldman /s/ Rosemary A Kane Alan Feldman, Secretary Rosemary A Kane, Recording Secretary BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE POLICE PENSION FUND Minutes Page 1 of 1 May 15, 2008
