CALL TO ORDER Chairman Cullum called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Committee Members Present: Chairman Cullum, Dinkel, Doyle (5:10 p.m.), McShane, Richardson Committee Members Absent: Naquib Others Present: Richard B. Boehm, Village Manager, Dale L. Durfey, Jr., P.E., Village Engineer 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Dinkel, seconded by Cullum, to approve the minutes of the meeting held on February 11, 2004. Passed unanimously. 4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS A. Project Updates. Village Engineer Durfey provided updates on various pathway projects: • Harger/York. Construction staking is being done and work should start soon. The project is expected to be complete later this year. • 31" Street. Phase II design engineering remains complete and is ready for bid. The Village Board approved a contract with the engineer for Phase III construction engineering at its meeting of March 23, 2004 and approved the Joint Agreement with IDOT regarding construction funding at its meeting of April 13, 2004. We anticipate IDOT bidding the project on June 11, 2004. • Salt Creek Greenway (Regional Trail). Phase II design engineering has begun. The project will most likely be built in 2005. B. System Signage. Village Manager Boehm reviewed this item. Discussion took place regarding the potential of naming certain loops or color coding segments. Member Doyle suggested that signage be installed along Madison Street and Adams Road for their on- street designation. Along the west side of Spring Road, between 31" Street and Adams Road, the pathway has soft areas. Village Engineer Durfey will contact DuPage County and request a curb cut opposite Mockingbird Lane. Pathway committee members can take it upon themselves to count pedestrian volumes along roadways that they perceive as having pedestrians and then relating that to the committee for possible inclusion of new pathway segments into the Priority List. Member Dinkel offered to count Windsor Drive, north of 22nd Street. D. Street Markings. Chairman Cullum asked about the status of the cross walk standard that was discussed at the last meeting. Village Engineer Durfey stated that it would be logical to place it into the Public Works Construction Standards that should go before the Village Board for revisions soon. 5. NEW BUSINESS None. 6. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Doyle, seconded by Dinkel, to adjourn the meeting at 6:15 p.m. Passed unanimously.
