MEMO TO: Village President & Board of Trustees
FROM: Richard A. Martens, Village Attorney
SUBJECT: Housekeeping Ordinance
As we approach the half year anniversary of using the new Village Code, we -have found
provisions which were omitted, or inaccurately stated. Accordingly, we have prepared the
attached ordinance which addresses a variety of housekeeping measures:
(a) Inclusion of the cooperative purchasing provision from our old code which was
inadvertently omitted in adopting our new code;
(b) A fee of $300 is imposed for an application for a variation under the Stormwater
ordinance;
(c) A provision has been inserted which requires applicants to reimburse the Village for
outside consulting and inspection charges which pertain to engineering inspections;
(d) Pursuant to our instructions to bidders, our ordinance has been amended to provide that
a bid security is forfeited after 15 days —not 10 days as currently stated;
(e) Reference to the "bureau of inspections" has been replaced with the current agency, the
Community Development Department.
I understand you will consider this ordinance at your regular meeting on February 13, 2001.
Respectfully submitted,
Richard A. Martens
