ITEM 6.F.1)

RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move that the Village Board adopt the attached ordinance
authorizing the sale of a surplus 1996 Chevrolet Lumina Cargo Mini -van.
Background/History:
The attached ordinance authorizes the sale of Unit 400, a 1996 Chevrolet Lumina Cargo
Minivan, which was used by the Engineering Department. This 14 year -old minivan has over
100,000 miles and a Kelly Blue (KBB) trade -in value of $775. With the retirement of the
Village's Engineer, Dale Durfey, this vehicle is no longer needed.
The Oak Brook Park District has offered to purchase the van in the amount of $800, pending
approval from their Board of Commissioners. If the Park Board of Commissioners does not
approve the sale, the Village will then register the vehicle with an online auctioneer run by the
State of Illinois, known as iBid. If inadequate or no bids are received through the online auction,
staff will advertise for bids in the local newspaper. If no bids are received through the
newspaper advertisement, items will be offered to local schools, churches and not - for - profit
agencies. Any remaining items will be disposed of.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends that the Village Board adopt the attached ordinance authorizing the sale of a
surplus 1996 Chevrolet Lumina Cargo Mini -van.
