AGENDA ITEM
Regular Board of Trustees Meeting
of
October 12, 2010
SUBJECT: Surplus Property
FROM: Rania Serences, Purchasing Clerk
BUDGET SOURCE/BUDGET IMPACT: N/A
RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move that the Village Board adopt the attached ordinance
authorizing the sale of surplus items.
Background/History:
The attached ordinance authorizes the sale of a televison, a wooden television stand, a 2 drawer
metal credenza, a color printer still shot machine, a color video multiplexor, and a time lapse
VCR from the Police Department. These items have either reached the end of their useful life,
have outdated technology, or are no longer needed since the functions they perform can now be
done on a computer.
The Village will first register the items with an online auctioneer run by the State of Illinois,
known as iBid. If inadequate or no bids are received through the online auction, staff will
advertise for bids in the local newspaper. If no bids are received through the newspaper
advertisement, items will be disposed of.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends that the Village Board adopt the attached ordinance authorizing the sale of
surplus items.
