AGENDA ITEM
Regular Board of Trustees Meeting
of
November 9, 2004
SUBJECT: Text Amendment - Public Hearing Notification Requirements
FROM: Kenneth T. Kubiesa, Village Attorney
BUDGET SOURCE/BUDGET IMPACT: None
Jon', 9101
RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move that Ordinance 2004- ZO -TA -G -764
amending the text of Chapter 14 (Administration and Enforcement) of Title 13 (Zoning
Regulations) to add notification requirements for public hearings associated with
applications for map amendments, special uses and variations be passed.
Background/History:
The notification process to inform the public of a pending request for zoning is an important step
in the Village's Board and Commission processes. The Village Code does not require that a sign
providing notification of a public hearing be placed on a property that is the subject of a zoning
application. This text amendment adds such a requirement to -the Zoning Regulations This
amendment also provides for notice requirements that are dictated by the Illinois Municipal
Code.
Recommendation:
I recommend that Ordinance 2004- ZO -TA -G -764 be passed
