RECOMMENDATION: That the Village Board adopt Ordinance No. 2003- ZO- R -S -_, as
submitted herewith which changes the zoning district map for the
Shah property at 3308 Midwest Road to R -3 Residential from R -2
Residential.
Pursuant to your direction and the recommendation of the Plan Commission, we have prepared the
attached Ordinance which amends the zoning district map for the Shah property at 3308 Midwest Road
from R -2 Residential to R -3 Residential.

1. CALL TO ORDER- CALL TO ORDER
The Regular Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was called to order by
President Quinlan in the Samuel E. Dean Board Room of the Butler
Government Center at 7.35 p.m It is noted for the record that due to the
absence of the Village Clerk Linda Gonnella and Deputy Village Clerk Harty,
Village Manager Boehm will act as Recording Secretary.
The Pledge of Allegiance was given.
2. ROLL CALL- ROLL CALL
Village Manager Boehm called the roll with the following persons
PRESENT- President Kevin M. Quinlan, Trustees Stelios Aktipis, George T.
Caleel, John W Craig, Susan Chase Korin and Asif Yusuf.
ABSENT: Trustee Elaine Miologos.
IN ATTENDANCE: Richard B. Boehm, Village Manager; Dale L. Durfey, Jr.,
Village Engineer; Bonnie Sartore, Bath & Tennis Club Manager
and James Bodony, Acting Fire Chief.
3. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND OPEN FORUM: ANNOUNCE
President Quinlan and Trustee Craig paid tribute to those who have served this
country in the military and asked for a moment of remembrance on this
Veteran's Day.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING DISTRICT MAP
TO R -3 DISTRICT CONCERNING THE SHAH PROPERTY AT
3308 MIDWEST ROAD, OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS 60523
(P I N 06 -34- 101 -004)
WHEREAS, an application has been filed requesting that the zoning district map be amended as
to certain property commonly known as 3308 Midwest Road, Oak Brook, Illinois, consisting of
approximately 2.8 acres (the "Subject Property'), presently zoned R -2 (minimum lot size one acre), to R -3
(minimum lot size 25,000 square feet), and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on such application was conducted by the Zoning Board of Appeals
of the Village of Oak Brook on October 7, 2003, pursuant to due and appropriate legal notice, and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals have recommended this
amendment, with the Zoning Board of Appeals also making the requisite findings that the standards of
Section 13 -6 -1 of the Village Code have been met, and
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees hereby determine that the map
amendment for the Subject Property to the R -3 Single - Family Detached Residence Zoning District
represents the most appropriate zoning consistent with the highest and best use thereof, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows
Section 1- That the zoning district map is hereby amended so that the Subject Property
legally described on Exhibit A hereto, be located within the R -3 Single - Family Detached
Residence District
Section 2: That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to amend the official zoning district map of the
Village of Oak Brook in accordance with the provisions of Section 1 hereinabove
Section 3 That all ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed
to the extent of such conflict, and only as applicable to the Subject Property
Section 4 That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after passage, approval
and publication as provided by law
