In reviewing some old minutes, we found that we had neglected to draft ordinances extending for three
months the expiration date for construction of the recreational folly proposed by Mr. Samatas at 9 Natoma
Drive. You gave this direction as part of your September 26, 2000 consent agenda.
Attached are ordinances which extend the completion date for the recreational folly and related
improvements to December 29, 2000.
These ordinances are:
1. An Ordinance Amending Ordinance S -964 Extending The Expiration Date Of The Flood Plain
Special Use Permit Granted Therein; and
2. An Ordinance Amending Ordinance S -965 Extending The Expiration Date Of The Variance
Granted Therein.
I understand you will consider these ordinances at your regular meeting on November 14, 2000.

The ordinances drafted extend for three months the expiration date for
construction of the recreational folly proposed by Mr. Samatas at
9 Natoma Drive. This direction was given by -the Village Board at their
September 26, 2000 meeting. The ordinances extend the completion
date for the recreational folly and related improvements to December
29, 2000.
Motion by Trustee Savino, seconded by Trustee McInerney, to approve
Ordinance #2000- ZO- SU -FP -S -974, "An Ordinance Amending

60523)," as presented and waive the full reading thereof. ROLL CALL

ORDINANCE 2000- ZO- SU -FP -S- 974
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE S -964
EXTENDING THE EXPIRATION DATE
OF THE FLOOD PLAIN SPECIAL USE PERMIT GRANTED THEREIN
(9 Natorna Drive, Oak Brook, IL 60523)
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook, by Ordinance S -964 granted
to the property described therein a special use permit for a foot bridge and accessory structure (i.e., recreational
folly) within the Village of Oak Brook subject to certain conditions and restrictions; and
WHEREAS, said special use permit would automatically terminate if all land modifications were not
completed in substantial conformity with the Site Plan on or before September 11, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the owner of the subject property has petitioned the President and Board of Trustees to
extend the deadline by three months; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook deem the passage of this
Ordinance to be in the best interest and in furtherance of the general welfare of the Village of Oak Brook.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are hereby adopted as' though fully
set forth herein.
Section 2: That Section 6 of Ordinance S -964 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"That all land modifications and construction on the subject property be completed on or before
December 29, 2000 in substantial conformity with the Site Plan. This completion date may be extended
without public hearings by the President and Board of Trustees upon a showing of necessity by the
property owner."
Section 3: That all other provisions of Ordinance S -964 are in full force and effect.
Section 4: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after passage and approval
pursuant to law.
