HomeMy WebLinkAboutVolume 30 - 2014Our Fall Evergreen Concert will feature a Chicago Philharmonic Society chamber ensemble performing classical works by Brahms, Haydn, and Poulenc at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, in the Friends Meeting Room at the Library. The ensemble will include Marie Tachouet on flute, Ann Palen on violin, Paula Kosower on cello, and William Billingham on piano. Founded in 1988 by principal performers of the Lyric Opera Orchestra of Chicago, and known then as The Orchestral Society of Illinois, the Chicago Philharmonic Society has approximately 200 performing members. The orchestra has performed for many years at Ravinia and has been honored by the Illinois Council of Orchestras as Orchestra of the Year. In 2012, the Society became the official orchestra for the Joffrey Ballet. For more than a decade, the Chicago Philharmonic has performed its subscription orchestra concert series at Pick-Staiger Hall in Evanston. Since 2010, the Society has added chamber music series in Park Ridge and Hinsdale. The Concert is free to the public, and no reservations are required. Following the performance, one lucky attendee will receive a free CD, and refreshments will be served for all to enjoy. For more information, please call the Library at 630-368-7702.
