Adult Winter Reading Club The Adult Services staff invites our patrons to take part in our Winter Reading Program: New Year, New Reads. When we welcome the new year, break the mold and challenge yourself to read not only more books, but different types of books. From fiction to nonfiction, romance to mystery, pick up an author, genre, or format that you've never read before from our collection. All who participate will receive a reading incentive and be entered into a drawing. Sponsored by the Friends. Automatic Renewals Are Here! Starting in January, checked out items eligible for renewal will be renewed automatically two days before they are due. This will allow you to enjoy your items longer and avoid costly late fees. If you have signed up for email notification, a courtesy notice will let you know what items were not renewed. Signing up for email notification is the best way to track your due dates. Remember it is still your responsibility to track your due dates and what items are eligible for renewal. Toddling 2s & 3s Thursdays @ 10:30 am - Feb. 4, 11 & 18 Your two- or three-year-old will surely enjoy this interactive storytime that includes marvelous books, flannel boards, music, and a simple craft. Children must be age 2 by January 1, 2016. Parents must accompany their child at this program. Fantastic 4s & 5s Tuesdays @ 4:30 pm - Feb. 2, 9 & 16 We will wiggle and giggle in this fun-filled storytime. Activities, crafts, music, and lively stories strengthen early reading skills. Not only will we talk about the stories and characters, but we will also discover fun facts about each book as well as the authors. Snacks will be provided. Young Artists Workshop Saturday, February 20 @ 1pm Ages 8-13 After learning about the process of dyeing batik fabrics, artists will draw with wax crayon and apply watercolors. Lego® League Thursday, February 11 @ 6:30 - 7:30 pm Ages 4 & up Help us kick off our new Lego Building Club. Each month we will let our creativity run wild and incorporate STEM skills into our builds. There will be Lego building books available to help spark ideas. Groups of 1 - 4 people. Registration is required. 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Sign up your newborn, infant, or toddler for our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program. This ongoing program will help build your child’s vocabulary, print awareness, early literacy skills and more as you read 1000 books before they start their first day of Kindergarten. Stop by the Youth Services desk today to sign up. Your child will get prizes along the way to celebrate as you read! Youth Winter Reading Club Watch out! Sand Art Fun Saturday, February 13 @ 1 pm Grades 2 & up Would you like to be on a beach or escape to some place warm? Well, we cannot provide the beach or the sun, but we do have sand! Take a break from the cold and join us in making beauti- ful colored sand designs. Fill small containers in various shapes with multicolored sand. Registration is required. Stop in at the Library in February to check out our Blind Date With A Book display in Young Adult and Juvenile! Books will be wrapped up so you won’t know what you’re getting! Looking for Legos®!
