Osteoarthritis 101 - Saturday, September 3 @ 2 pm
Do you or a family member suffer from osteoarthritis? Dr. Luke Stringer from the Pain and
Wellness group in Villa Park will be discussing signs, symptoms, and treatment methods,
specifically geared towards knee joints. Bring all your questions!
Music of World War II - Saturday, September 10 @ 2 pm
Bandleader and Big Band historian Steve Cooper presents a program of rare films
and videos featuring the great music of the World War II era. Steve will introduce
each video clip with a fascinating and humorous "behind the scenes" story as he
played with many of the famous bands, musicians and singers. At the end of the
show, Steve will play song requests on his trumpet. Sponsored by the Friends of the
Library.
Classical Piano Concert - Sunday, September 18 @ 2 pm
Pianist Anatoliy Torchinskiy returns to the Library to showcase his magnificent talent.
Mr. Torchinskiy has performed with companies such as da Corneto Opera and
Genesis Opera and has played live on WFMT radio. Sponsored by the Friends of the
Library.
Thanks for Your Memories: An Introduction to Writing Memoir
Saturday, September 24 @ 2 pm
Writing memoir is a powerful way to stimulate your mind and your memory. Join Dr. Linda Sasser
of Brain and Memory Health to learn what memoir is, how it differs from autobiography, the
benefits of writing memoir, and its various formats and types. You will participate in some simple
exercises to help you start writing and be inspired with ideas for continuing on the journey.

The Welsh Who Built Chicago - Sunday, September 25 @ 2 pm
Dilys Rana, author and board member of the Cambrian Benevolent Society of Chicago, will be
discussing Welsh heritage of Chicago. She will start the journey in 1833, when
Chicago was still in its infancy, and continue through September 1893 when the
Welsh immigrants celebrated their country during four days of music, choral
singing, and poetry at the World’s Columbian Exposition.

A one-on-one 30 minute computer session is being offered to
patrons for answering basic computer-related questions from
searching the Web to downloading books. Registration is required.
Monday, Sept. 19 @ 2 pm - Intro to MS Word 2010
Participants will learn to open and shut down MS Word, use basic
commands, change the “look” or format of the document, edit text,
use spell check, and print.
Thursday, Sept. 22 @ 2 pm - Intro to MS Excel 2010
This class will introduce the Excel spreadsheet. Areas covered will
be the everyday commands found on the Ribbon; create a new
workbook, save workbooks, insert and delete column and rows and
enter text and numbers.
Thursday, Sept. 29 @ 2 - 5 pm - Computer Help

Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit
Do you enjoy discussing a good book with friends
while indulging in a tasty snack? We will meet
once per month to discuss a good book while
discovering fun facts about it as well as the author.
Snacks will be provided!

Your two year old will surely enjoy this interactive story time
that includes marvelous books, flannel boards, music, and a
simple craft. Children must be age 2 by September 1, 2016.
Parents accompany child in this program.
Fantastic 4s & 5s
Wednesdays, Sept 14, 21 & 28 @ 10:30 am
Preschoolers will wiggle and giggle in this fun-filled story time.
Activities, crafts, music, and lively stories strengthen early reading
skills. Children must be 4 by September 1, 2016.
Storytime Art - Grades K-2
Tuesdays, Sept 13, 20 & 27 @ 4:30 pm
Are you nuts about books and art? Then join us for this
creative story time. We will read a story and then do an art
project inspired by the book.
Tabletop Games
Monday, September 26 @ 4:30 pm
Join in on the fun playing a variety of board games and card
games. Participants will decide the games we play and whether
we play in small or large groups. Feel free to bring your own table
top games! Ages 8 & up.
Teen Advisory Group (TAG)
Mondays Sept. 19 @ 6 pm
TAG provides teens with the opportunity to have a voice in their
library. We will discuss and plan future programs and work on
ways to improve the library community. This leadership role also
counts towards community service hours. Grades 7 & up.

YA Book Discussion
