Minutes of January 13, 2000
MEETING CALL: The meeting began at 7:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Adam Butler, Doreen Barrrett, Nuha Dabbouseh, Ralph
Maxson, Barb Nasharr, Joan Philip, Bonnie Sartore
ABSENT: Joyce Antoniolli, Michelle Butler, Connie Craig, Marci Hanzlik, Carolyn Link,
Jan Lundquist, Nelli Naguib, Susan Santefort, Denise Tennison
ALSO PRESENT: Linda Lojewski
MINUTES from the meeting of October 20, 1999 were approved as written.
4. DISCUSSION started with the suggestion that the Cake Walk be held again this year, but
that the committee solicit cakes from several local bakers. Because donations were not as
many as expected in 1999, B & T staff purchased cakes to supplement the supply. The
committee suggested that cupcakes and/or smaller cakes would be better, or that larger ones
be cut and repackaged.
DATES FOR THIS YEAR'S AUTUMN FESTIVAL will be September 30 for the Preview
Party from 6:00 until 11:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 1 from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m.
6. NUHA SUGGESTED that a cover letter be drafted explaining about Autumn Fest, its origin,
and purpose. She will send this letter along with letters of solicitation to local merchants for
raffle prizes. The suggestion was made that raffle ticket prices be raised to $2.00 each or 3 for
$5.00. It was also suggested that the raffle be held earlier in the day, rather than keeping it to
the last event of the day.
7. AUTUMN FESTIVAL letterheads and envelopes will be ordered in green or orange on
ivory. The letterheads will not contain names of committee members or dates so that the
supply could be used for more than one year.
8. POSSIBLE ADDED ATTRACTIONS such as a McDonald character roaming the grounds
was suggested. Bonnie indicated that she thought the Ty Compnay might also have a
character we could get for the afternoon.
9. ADAM AND RALPH volunteered to take some Autumn Fest pictures to the next Hotel and
Visitors Convention meeting to publicize the event and hope for some support and donations
from the hotels for the raffle.
10. NEXT MEETING of the Autumn Festival Committee will be on February 10, 2000.
11. ADJOURNMENT: 8:25 p.m.
