4. COMMITTEE MEMBERS FOR 2002: Bonnie informed the committee of changes and
additions to the committee for this year's event. Connie suggested a resident from the Saddle
Brook subdivision as a representative from the Downers Grove school district and volunteered
to contact her. (Following the meeting, Connie contacted Rose Boersma and she agreed to
join the committee).
PREVIEW PARTY MENU was discussed. Nuha noted that we served a lot of pork in the
past and suggested another choice. The committee agreed it was a good idea and this year will
substitute Sauerbraten for the smoked pork chops. Carrot cake will also be added as a dessert
choice. It was agreed to increase the price by $1.00 to $23.00 and the reservation form will
note that this includes tax and gratuity. The possibility of again offering a "souvenir" cup for
sale and $.99 refills was discussed. John volunteered to contact some beer vendors on the
committee's behalf for donations.
6. PRIVATE BANK has expressed an interest in again participating as a sponsor for this year's
Autumn Fest and John will contact them. He will also again approach the Oak Brook Bank
for a donation or a sponsorship.
7. OTHER SUGGESTIONS for new attractions this year were the Jesse White Tumblers and a
representative from the Secretary of State's office to offer information on Organ donations and
other services of the Secretary of State. Bonnie noted that Officer Ramirez has volunteered to
get other canine units to lead the Pet Parade and she will ask the Coast Guard to do a
demonstration similar to a training exercise they have done on the Sports Core. The exercise
involved familiarizing the canine units with a helicopter.
S. NEXT MEETING: May 91h. At this meeting letters for donations and sponsorship
opportunities will be available for committee members.
9. ADJOURNMENT: 8:15 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
