Minutes - 05/10/2001 - Autumn Festival CommitteeAUTUMN FESTIVAL Committee Minutes of May 10, 2001 1. MEETING CALL: The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL: PRESENT, Mariette Adrian, Adam Butler, Michelle Butler, Christy Cushing, Connie Craig, Nuha Dabbouseh, Jan Lundquist, Ralph Maxson, Barb Nasharr, Nelly Naguib, Joan Philip, Tom Truedson, Bonnie Sartore ABSENT: Joyce Antoniolli, Carolyn Link ALSO PRESENT: Karen Bushy 3. Minutes of the March 8, 2001 meeting were approved as submitted. 4. Christv Cushing, the newest member from York Woods, was welcomed and brought up to date. 5. The committee voted to add Murray the Camel to the list of attractions. An updated attraction list will be furnished at the next meeting. Christy suggested Helicopter rides like they do in Burr Ridge for the Route 66 festival. The committee decided that for safety and permitting reasons, this would not be possible. 6. It was decided that Bonnie would address the Homeowner's Association presidents, either at their next meeting or with a memo, and request a $50 donation from each neighborhood group. This money would be used to purchase 12 to 15 cakes for our Cake Walk. 7. Bonnie is to contact the West Suburban Concert Band to provide music during the Sunday event. Elmhurst College has been confirmed for the Saturday night Preview Party. 8. Raffle items are needed and committee members were encouraged to begin sending letters and calling any contacts for raffle items. 9. Sponsorship opportunities are to be outlined and defined for the committee for the next meeting. Sponsors already committed are Coldwell Banker, $1,000 to sponsor the Pet Parade; Adams & Myers, the Petting Zoo; Oak Brook Park District, the Moonwalk; President Bushy, 50% of the cost of the Trackless Train. 10. Publicity: It was decided that the event should be in the next two Village Newsletters, as well as the Civic Association Newsletter, it we can coordinate it. A "keep the date" postcard was thought to be a good idea this summer. 11. Volunteer groups are a necessity and the committee was asked to think about additional volunteer groups to assist with directions, ticket taking, etc. 12.
