MINUTES OF THE JULY 75 2005 MEETING OF THE AUTUMN
FESTIVAL COMMITTEE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK.
APPROVED AS WRITTEN ON AUGUST 11, 2005.
CALL TO ORDER-
The Special Meeting of the Autumn Festival Committee was called to order by Chairman
Linda Gonnella at 7:12 p.m. in the Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Clubhouse, 800 Oak Brook
Road, Oak Brook, IL
ROLL CALL
PRESENT. Chairman Linda Gonnella, Vice Chairman Nuha Dabbouseh, Committee
Members Connie Craig, Carolyn Link and Nelly Naguib.
ABSENT: Joyce Antoniolli and Barbara Nashaar.
IN ATTENDANCE: Nelson Patras, Interim Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club Manager and
Mary Meranda, Secretary.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
June 9, 2005
Vice Chairman Dabbouseh indicated that the minutes should be corrected on page 2 that
the cost for RC Racing Experience is $1,100.00 and Interim Bath & Tennis Club Manager
Patras also noted that he was not in attendance of the meeting
Motion by Vice Chairman Dabbouseh, seconded by Member Naguib, to approve the
minutes of the June 9, 2005 Autumn Festival Committee meeting as amended. VOICE
VOTE. Motion carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
a. Update of Generator for Activities
Chairman Gonnella reported that there were three generators located in the Fire
Department that may be used by other departments. Manager Patras will contact the Fire
Department, if they are available for usage at the Autumn Festival.
b Update of Scheduled Activities
Mary Meranda reported that the contract from Armanetti's for the wine tasting had been
received and she is now working with a new person at York Tavern to receive their

contract as a food vendor.
Chairman Gonnella has contacted the Police Chief and is waiting to hear from him
regarding the DARE Officer and K -9 Officer for the Fest. She also contact the Battalion
Chief in the Fire Department for their participation with a ladder, ambulance and children
activities.
c. Update of Food Vendors
Chairman Gonnella reported that Park District Director Tom Suhs has approved the usage
of their popcorn machine for the event and their massage chair and therapist. Mary
Meranda will contact Caribou Coffee Manager Jeff Corey to have him sign the contract as
a food vendor. Connie Craig reported that Mike Weber from Weber Bakery would donate
ten cakes in different flavors for the cakewalk. The Committee discussed raising funds
for the Autumn Festival and Connie Craig will contact Mr. Weber requesting the purchase
of five dozen large cookies to sell at the event and Mary Meranda will purchase small
bags for the cookie sale Vice Chairman Dabbouseh also offered that she would purchase
sweet goods to be sold for the event. Manager Patras will speak with Executive Chef Sue
to determine the cost of baking brownies and rice cookies for sale at the event. Vice
Chairman Dabbouseh and Connie Craig volunteered to sell the desserts for the Fest.
Caterer Mike Baines will serve hot dogs as food vendor but his contract has not been
received to date. If not received, then York Tavern will be contacted requesting to sell hot
dogs.
d. Discuss 2005 Autumn Festival Budget
The Committee reviewed the budget noting the following changes: Magician Tim Adamz
will only have one magic show, RC Racing Experience will cost $1,100 for a total cost of
activities at $4,070. The set up costs were also adjusted as the stage cost would be $300,
the tent (40' x 120') $1,600 and B & T staffing cost would be $500 for a total cost of set
up of $2,400. Remaining proceeds from the event are estimated at $545.00.
Regarding parking, the Bath & Tennis Club entrance will be barricaded with one staff
member directing traffic to the entrance to the polo fields. Two staff members will collect
the $5 00 parking fee at the Polo Drive entrance and two staff members will direct
parking
Raffle tickets will be made available for purchase of raffle prizes Presently, only the
Marriott Hotel weekend package has been received for a raffle prize. Chairman
Dabbouseh will try to receive more raffle prizes.

4. e. Discuss Sponsorship Plaques
Chairman Gonnella distributed a draft of a sponsorship plaque for the four sponsors for
the 2005 Autumn Festival thanking them for their donations. The Committee concurred
with the recommendation to purchase plaques at a cost each of $70.35 for 4 lines of print,
a $10.00 logo fee charge and $2 50 for each additional print line on each plaque
5. NEW BUSINESS:
The Committee discussed the date of the next meeting as August 11th. Connie Craig will
not be in attendance of the meeting.
6. ADJOURNMENT:
Motion by Connie Craig, seconded by Carolyn Link, to adjourn the meeting at 8.35 p m
