Celebration, centerpieces were created for sale at the Buffet with proceeds going to the Autumn Festival. 21
centerpieces were sold at a profit of $400.00. The Committee was asked for suggestions on what we could do
with the extra Beanie Babies (approx. 100) to bring in more revenues. Possibly more centerpieces could be
created for sale at the Preview Party. Ty Warner may also sponsor a game this year.
4. Bonnie attended the most recent Civic Association meeting and informed the Committee that a promotion for
Autumn Fest will go in their monthly newsletter. The format for the Snowflake Ball will be changing to a
Holiday Buffet/Open House. Black Tie will no longer be required. The dress code for the evening will be
Holiday Dress. The August 10`1' Polo Match will be the Oak Brook Civic Association Cup.
Committee Members discussed the different responsibilities they will take on to make this year's Autumn
Festival a success. Mariette will check into a climbing wall and will also put out a flyer at Butler School
registration and contact the PTA. Connie will ask Kathleen about ROTC, and will also contact Citi Bank for
sponsorship. Joyce and Rose will contact McDonald's for sponsorship and possibly Bank One and Northern
Trust. At the next Park District meeting Harry will discuss the Park District possibly donating raffle prizes.
And possibly for their own advertising they might contribute a couple of their own activities. Harry will also
look into getting a radar gun to time tennis serves and ball pitches.
6. Signage: It was suggested that more signage on the roads might help promote Autumn Festival. Also that
flags on the bridge lights would be good advertising.
Next meeting: August 14, 2003.
Adjournment: 8:00 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Mary Meranda.
