MINUTES OF THE AUGUST 30, 2007 MEETING OF THE
AUTUMN FESTIVAL COMMITTEE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK
BROOK. APPROVED AS WRITTEN ON OCTOBER 17, 2007
CALL TO ORDER:
The Regular Meeting of the Autumn Festival Committee was called to order by Co-
Chairman Linda Gonnella at 7:08 p.m. in the Oak Brook Sports Core Administration
Building, 700 Oak Brook Road, Oak Brook, IL.
ROLL CALL:
PRESENT: Co- Chairman Nuha Dabbouseh and Linda Gonnella, Committee Members
Joyce Antoniolli, Connie Craig and Nelly Naguib.
ABSENT: None.
Connie Craig arrived at 7:40 p.m.
IN ATTENDANCE: Mary Meranda, Sports Core Secretary.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
a. Minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 26, 2007
Motion by Co- Chairman Dabbouseh, seconded by Member Antoniolli, to approve the
minutes of the July 26, 2007 Autumn Festival Committee meeting as presented. VOICE
VOTE: Motion carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
a. Discussion of Sponsorships
The Committee discussed the locations of sponsor tables with their activities in the
Clubhouse. Citibank will be sponsoring the clowns, Stefani Management Services will
sponsor the pony rides, Wyndham Drake Hotel will sponsor the DuPage Children's
Museum activities, Elkay Corporation will sponsor the Moon Jumps, Costco will
sponsor the Bob James Magic Shop, Brush Hill Realtors will sponsor the Butterfly
Garden, Elaine Zannis /Coldwell Banker will sponsor balloons and Nikki Ricci &
Gianna Ricci- Bardi /Coldwell Bankers will sponsor the chemist. A new banner will
have to be printed for Citibank.
b. Discussion of Activities
A flier of the Autumn Festival will appear in the September Oak Brook Civic
Association newsletter. The cost is $205.00 made payable to the OBCA. Co-
Chairman Gonnella will have 3,300 fliers printed for the inserts.

4. b. The Committee discussed locating two lifeguards with the paddleboats, one Bath &
Tennis Staff member for each of the Moon Jumps, a popcorn machine for Elaine
Zannis, two magician shows one beginning at 1:15 p.m. with a twenty minute break to
the next show at 2:30 p.m. with each show being 45 minutes, the chemist shows will
be 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., the DARE Officer and K -9 Officers will be located in the
semi - circle in front of the Clubhouse and finally the Fire Department truck, ambulance
and staff with also be in the semi - circle. The Committee members, who are able, will
arrive at 10:00 a.m. to help set up the banners, etc. The Committee members will
rotate helping with the Moon Jumps for safety precautions and to allow the B & T
staff a break while working.
The cost of the chemist shows are $195.00 for the first show and $150.00 for the
second show. The Oak Brook Women's Club will have members from their Board
host their information table in the Clubhouse.
c. Discussion of Food Vendors
The Poolside Cafe will have three of their staff preparing and serving the food. They
will offer hamburgers, pizza, nachos, chicken tenders, hot dogs, french fries, pretzels
and liquid refreshments as some of the food items.
d. Discussion of Equipment Requirements
Greg has the generators ready to be used for the ,events. The Bath & Tennis Club staff
will arrive in the morning to help set up. Ray Rocke will have two car parkers to
direct traffic to the B & T parking lot. The front entrance to the Bath & Tennis Club
will be barricaded with a directional indicating to enter at the Library entrance. The
parking lot at the Clubhouse will be barricaded by the , semi - circle so that no one enters
that area but public safety personnel. Walkie talkies will be used for the Committee
from Ray Rocke's company to assist in the event.
5. NEW BUSINESS:
The Committee discussed the 2008 Village's Jubilee event in which they have been asked
to coordinate a 50's type Street Dance.
6. ADJOURNMENT:
Motion by Co- Chairman Dabbouseh, seconded by Member Naguib, to adjourn the
meeting at 8:10 p.m.
