Minutes - 09/09/1999 - Autumn Festival Committee0- • AUTUMN FEST Committee Minutes September 9, 1999 1. MEETING CALL: The meeting began at 7:00 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Adam Butler, Michelle Butler, Doreen Barrrett, Connie Craig, Nuha Dabbouseh, Carolyn Link, Joan Philip, Susan Santefort, Bonnie Sartore ABSENT: Marci Hanzlik, Ralph Maxson, Nelli Naguib, Barb Nasharr, Denise Tennison ALSO PRESENT: Karen Bushy, Joyce Antoniolli 3. MINUTES from the meeting of August 12, 1999 were approved as written. 4. ENTERTAINMENT for Autumn Festival was the first topic of discussion. Susan Santefort filled the committee in on the tentative schedule and highlighted a song written to the tune of "Go, Go, Go, Joseph ". The song will highlight the numerous attributes of Oak Brook. Susan also mentioned various other groups she had been working with and a tentative schedule for the groups was set. Susan suggested that the various groups' performers be given food and beverage tickets and be reimbursed for their costumes and props. As in the past, it was suggested that donations be made to the Hinsdale Central High School, Butler Jr. High, and Eisenhower Jr. High to offset any costs they may have incurred in performing. The committee agreed unanimously. 5. RAFFLE: Bonnie explained that the raffle would be conducted by the AAUW as its service the AAUW has agreed to obtain project. Since the Village can not issue itself a raffle license, the license, sell the tickets and conduct the raffle. Tickets will be sold for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Several gift certificates and items have been donated and Nuha indicated more were expected. Joan Philip agreed to take on the responsibility of seeing that the raffle tickets got printed. 6. PUBLICITY was discussed at great length. The committee suggested putting posters in various locations throughout the Village and in Hinsdale. Because of the cost of posters in the past, it was suggested that some be printed on the Village systems. A flyer was discussed and it was agreed it would be distributed in the schools, including Eisenhower Jr. High and Hinsdale Central, as well as other locations such as Fullersburg Woods, the Library, and the Park District. It was also suggested that the committee do a Village wide postcard mailing as a last minute reminder. Joan volunteered, on behalf of the Civic Association, to provide the labels. 7. PREVIEW PARTY RESERVATIONS are expected to exceed 150. 8. FINAL CHOICES for games and entertainment were made and are to include a Games Coordinator, the Moonwalk, clowns, a face painter and an organ grinder with monkey. There will be a charge of $.50 to participate in the Cake Walk, moon walk, Pony rides and Paddleboats. Tickets will be sold at the entrance table. 9.
