AUTUMN FESTIVAL COMMITTEE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK
BROOK APPROVED AS WRITTEN ON OCTOBER 2, 2006
1. CALL TO ORDER
The Regular Meeting of the Autumn Festival Committee was called to order by Chairman
Linda Gonnella at 7:05 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Chairman Linda Gonnella, Vice Chairman Nuha Dabbouseh, Members
Joyce Antoniolli, Connie Craig, Deborah Effrein and Nelly Naguib.
ABSENT: None.
IN ATTENDANCE: Sports Core Secretary Mary Meranda.
3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Meeting Minutes of August 14, 2006
Chairman Gonnella noted corrections in the minutes on page 2 the misspelling of Mr. D's
in the second paragraph. On page 2 under Agenda Item 4. d., the second sentence should
be corrected to read: "The additional cost of $324.00 will be expended for R & B staffing
to assist in the setting up of the vendors from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m."
Motion by Vice Chairman Dabbouseh, seconded by Nelly Naguib, to approve the Autumn
Festival Meeting Minutes of August 14, 2006 as amended. VOICE VOTE: Motion
carried.
4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
a. Review Sponsor Plaques
The sponsorship plaques were being ordered by Mary Meranda and will be ready in one
week's time for the distribution to our sponsors.
b. Finalize Activities
Joyce Antoniolli suggested that Caribou Coffee in Willowbrook may be interested in
serving coffee for our event. She will contact Mary Meranda and verify this. Chairman
Gonnella indicated she would be willing to donate coffee for the Bath & Tennis Club to
provide coffee if a vendor was not available for the Autumn Festival.
Mary Meranda explained that next year the Committee will have to include in their budget
the cost for valet parking for an event at the Clubhouse the night before Autumn Festival.

It is due to the fact that the tent is installed the day before Autumn Festival which
precludes anyone from parking in that area for that event that evening. She indicated that
Sports Core will have extra chairs for Mr. D's Magic Show. The Committee discussed
where activities would be located: the pre- function room will be used by the DuPage
Children's Museum for their art program; the Saddle Club Room will be used for the
DuPage Children's Museum magnets and rollers program. Ray Rocke from R & B has
offered the use of six walkie talkies for our event. The cost is not known at this time for
their use.
c. Finalize Map Location of Activities
The Oak Brook Civic Association will have a table in the Clubhouse near the Oak Brook
Park District's table.
d. Finalize Committee Participation
The Committee discussed their duties for the day of the event. The Committee members
should arrive at 10:00 a.m. Chairman Gonnella will be located at the tent with the food
vendors, Nelly Naguib and Connie Craig will be in the Clubhouse to assist with activities,
Debbie Effrein and Carrie Kratochvil will supervise the Obstacle Course and Sports Core
staff will monitor the Moon Jump. Vice Chairman Dabbouseh will monitor Mr. D's
Magic Show and the Bus -O -Fun activities. Debbie Naguib will monitor the Trackless
Train activity. Mary Meranda will order new polo shirts for Debbie Naguib and Carrie
Kratochvil who are assisting the Committee the day of the event. Carrie has volunteered
to work in place of Joyce Antoniolli who is not available. The new sponsor banners will
be displayed in front of each activity. The Committee members will assemble them and
place them in front of their appropriate activity.
NEW BUSINESS
The Committee set the next meeting date for Monday, October 2nd at 7:00 p.m.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Nelly Naguib, seconded by Vice Chairman Dabbouseh, to adjourn the Autumn
Festival Committee meeting at 8:27 p.m. VOICE VOTE: Motion carried.
