3. MINUTES of the August 8, 2002 meeting were approved.
4. Sponsorship updates: Bonnie informed the committee that The Private Bank had again
agreed to sponsor the entertainment stage. She also informed the committee that she had
received a letter from the Oak Brook Park district stating that they would contribute this year
but would not in the future and did not wish to have a representative of the Park Board on the
committee. The committee asked Bonnie to follow up with a letter to the Park District asking
them to further explain their position. She talked to Tom Suhs after receiving the letter and
was told only that he had sent it at the Park Board's direction.
5. Raffle: Joan will again print the raffle tickets. The cost will be $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00.
Bonnie noted that she had received many prizes geared for adults and was looking for some
for the children and younger adults. Joan requested a second table for the raffle so that there
would be a place for purchasers to fill out the raffle ticket.
6. Preview Party parking was discussed. There will be valet parking for this event. Parking
passes will be mailed to exhibitors and performers as requested for entrance on Sunday.
7. Press Release: Bonnie will ask Karen Martino to prepare a press release for the Autumn
Festival and use her list that she currently uses for Polo.
8. Moonwalk: A resident suggested having 2 moonwalks (one for younger children, one for
older). It was suggested that the operator of the event separate the children and let those of
similar size in together. In the past, 4th & 5th graders were allowed in with pre- schoolers and
the resident felt this was unsafe. The committee agreed and signs will be posted at the site to
inform parents of our grouping efforts.
9. Fortune Teller: Connie asked about the possibility of having a fortune teller /tarot card reader
at the Autumn Fest. The committee concurred it would be acceptable and Connie indicated
she would see about obtaining one.
10. Evaluation of Autumn Fest: Nuha suggested that the post -event evaluation include a
suggestion to contact OBACI members to contribute to the event in the future.
11. Adiournment: 8:35 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Linda Lojewski
