MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 2, 2006 MEETING OF THE
AUTUMN FESTIVAL COMMITTEE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK
BROOK APPROVED AS WRITTEN ON NOVEMBER 2, 2006
CALL TO ORDER
The Regular Meeting of the Autumn Festival Committee was called to order by Chairman
Linda Gonnella at 7:24 p.m. For the record, the meeting was moved to the Village Board
Room of the Butler Government Center, 1200 Oak Brook Road due to the Sports Core
Administration Building being locked.
ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Chairman Linda Gonnella, Members Connie Craig and Deborah Effrein.
ABSENT: Vice Chairman Nuha Dabbouseh, Members Joyce Antoniolli and Nelly
Naguib.
IN ATTENDANCE: None.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Meeting Minutes of September 11, 2006
Motion by Connie Craig, seconded by Deborah Effrein, to approve the Autumn Festival
Meeting Minutes of September 11, 2006 as presented. VOICE VOTE: Motion carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
a. Discuss 2006 Autumn Festival Event
The Committee discussed the logistics of the 2006 Autumn Festival and recommended the
following changes be considered for the 2007 Autumn Festival: use less tables under a
smaller tent for the food vendors, research a new pony riding company and include in
publicity that the Bears football game will be televised in the Clubhouse during the day.
The Committee recommended hiring more Moon Jump equipment and re- arranging the
activities. The Bus -O -Fun would be located in the parking lot near the tennis courts with
the pumpkin painting activity on the grass next to the tennis courts, Mr. D's Magic Show
be moved so that it is across from the Bus -O -Fun, check the generators for gasoline,
possibly find a new location for the trackless train activity so that the all of the activities
are closer together and consider expanding the DuPage Children's Museum activities.
b. Discuss and Approve the 2006 Autumn Festival Financial Report
The Committee reviewed the 2006 Autumn Festival Financial Report and noted that the

funds that remain from the 2006 Autumn Festival event in the amount of $667.23 be
designated for the 2007 Autumn Festival event.
Motion by Connie Craig, seconded by Deborah Effrein, that the 2006 Autumn Festival
Financial Report be approved as presented. VOICE VOTE: Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
a. Discuss the 2007 Autumn Festival
Chairman Gonnella noted that the Bus -O -Fun representative indicated that they will have
a bigger bus available for next year's activity. "Member Effrein suggested that hair
braiding may be a new activity for young girls with colorful ribbons. The Committee also
discussed finding a vendor to sell caramel apples and to consider having straws available
for soft drink cans as the bees were a nuisance to the public. The Committee reviewed
advertisements from vendors that had submitted their resumes and agreed that these
should be reviewed further to determine if any new vendors could be used for next year's
event.
The Committee also noted that there will be an expense for valet parking the night before
the 2007 Autumn Festival due to the tent being set up the day before in the parking lot and
there wouldn't be parking available for those guests attending the special event at the Bath
& Tennis Club.
Chairman Gonnella explained that the 2006 Autumn Festival Financial Report will be
presented to the Village Board of Trustees at their meeting of October 24th with a
recommendation from the Committee for its approval and requesting that a resolution be
drafted by the Village Attorney for the formation of the 2007 Ad Hoc Autumn Festival
Committee.
The Committee set a date of Thursday, November 2nd at 7:00 p.m. at the Sports Core
Administration Building for the next Autumn Festival Committee meeting.

Motion by Connie Craig, seconded by Deborah Effrein, to adjourn the Autumn Festival
Committee meeting at 8:27 p.m. VOICE VOTE: Motion carried.
