AUTUMN FESTIVAL COMMITTEE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK
BROOK UNOFFICIAL UNTIL APPROVED AS AMENDED ON
JANUARY 31, 2006.
1. CALL TO ORDER
The Regular Meeting of the Autumn Festival Committee was called to order by Chairman
Linda Gonnella at 7:10 p.m. in the Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Administration, 700 Oak
Brook Road, Oak Brook, IL.
2. ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Chairman Linda Gonnella, Vice Chairman Nuha Dabbouseh and
Committee Members Joyce Antoniolli and Connie Craig.
ABSENT: Barbara Nashaar and Nelly Naguib.
IN ATTENDANCE: Nelson Patras, Interim Bath & Tennis Club Manager and Mary
Meranda, Secretary.
3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
September 20, 2005
Interim Bath & Tennis Club Manager Patras noted a correction as he did not attend the
meeting as indicated in the September 20, 2005 minutes.
Motion by Vice Chairman Dabbouseh, seconded by Member Antoniolli, to approve the
minutes of September 20, 2005 Autumn Festival Committee meeting as amended.
VOICE VOTE:
Motion carried.
4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
a. Discuss 2005 Autumn Festival Event
The Committee discussed the entire day and recommended the following changes:
banners should be printed for Asif Yusuf s donation of pumpkins for the pumpkin
painting activity; have all of the activities outside weather permitting; do not charge for
parking if enough funding is received for the event and secure Ray Rocke staff for
parking and assisting in the set up of the Autumn Festival.
b. Discuss Committee Responsibilities
The Committee recommended that portable radios are needed for Committee members to
assist in activities, setting up properly and assisting vendors when necessary. Extra help

is needed during the day to allow the Committee members to have a break during the
activities. If a Committee member cannot attend Autumn Festival, the member must find
a replacement for the day.
c. Discuss and Approve the 2005 Autumn Festival Financial Report
The Committee approved the 2005 Autumn Festival Financial Report listing the activity
expenses for a total amount of $5,447.95; set up costs in a total amount of $3,345.13;
miscellaneous expenses in the total amount of $1,802.77; donations in the total amount of
$11,227.00 with a remaining profit for the 2006 Autumn Festival in the amount of
$631.15.
d. Discuss Improvements for the 2006 Autumn Festival
The Committee discussed and recommended the following concepts to be considered for
the 2006 event: request refundable deposits for the food vendors to insure that they will
attend the event; request a list of food items that Scoop's and Mr. Bill's sells; expand the
menu of food available at the event; hire four clowns for face painting and balloon
making; return the activity of guessing the number of candy in the containers; eliminate
the raffle, cake walk and Scottish dancers for new activities and return the activity of Mr.
Di's Magic Show. Retain Bus -O -Fun again as resident Elaine Zannis will sponsor this
event.
Regarding the food vendors, request Member Naguib to contact the liquor vendor that
participated previously in Autumn Festival for the wine tasting activity and request Home
Run Inn Pizza to participate as a food vendor. Investigate previous Autumn Festival
activities such as the trackless train, petting zoo and camels.
e. Discuss Sponsorship of Activities
The Committee will investigate further if it is feasible requesting sponsorships from
developers in Oak Brook that have already been approved by the Village for their
developments.
5. NEW BUSINESS —None presented.
6. ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Member Antoniolli, seconded by Member Craig, to adjourn the meeting at
8:15 p.m.
