2. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Carolyn Link, Ralph Maxson, Nelly Naguib, Joan Philip,

ABSENT: Mariette Adrian, Joyce Antoniolli, Rose Boersma, Connie Craig, John Craig, Nuha

3. MINUTES of the September 12, 2002 meeting were approved.
4. Before discussion on this year's Autumn Festival, Bonnie explained the philosophy behind
the event as one of providing residents with an opportunity to get together with their neighbors
on Saturday night and with other families on Sunday afternoon. Previous Village Boards have
been extremely supportive of the event, but several current board members are not unless the
event can pay for itself. The Autumn Festival was approved in the 5 year plan, and is in the
Community Events budget for 2003. However, the budget has not been approved — it will be
discussed at the board budget meeting scheduled for November 25. The December Autumn
Fest meeting was cancelled, but Bonnie informed the committee to plan on a January meeting.
Even if the Autumn Festival was discontinued, the consensus of those present was that the
Preview Party, which does cover its expenses, should continue.
5. Revenue and expenses for this year were discussed. Asif worked with the parking staff and
felt people were happy with the $5.00, one time fee as opposed to having to pay for individual
events as has been done in the past. Both Carolyn and Ralph noted they would like to keep
the admission at $5.00, or eliminate it if possible if more sponsors were obtained Asif also
noted that the fee paid to the parking attendants exceeded the money collected. The
professional service was necessary this year due to 315` Street construction, but several in
attendance felt they could handle parking within the committee and a service would not be a
needed expense in the future.
6. Evaluation of several attractions were made. Nelly mentioned that she had been in the
Clubhouse working the Cake Walk (always a big hit) and noted that several people in
attendance expressed how happy they were with the day and what a good time they were
having. She also mentioned how well received the Marionette show was. Children were
allowed to manipulate the puppets and enjoy the stage atmosphere. Bonnie told those who
had not seen it, the Magic Show was held on the circle, from the back of a truck. It was a
huge magic show and felt it was a great way to wrap up the day. Ralph suggested the West
Suburban Band play 3 hours rather than 2, with a break. No one had any negative comments
to pass along to the committee.
7. Next meeting: January 9, 2003.
8. Adjournment: 8:15 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Linda Lojewski
