Minutes - 08/18/1993 - Bath & Tennis Members' Committee5b- M 04 ` - 9 -19- - 93 MINUTES OF THE OAK BROOK BATH & TENNIS COMMITTEE MEETING HELD AUGUST 18, 1993 0 The B & T Committee meeting was called to order at 7:00. Starr, Vince, Ellie, Pam, Joyce, Carol and Tom were present and the minutes were approved. There was a discussion of the Pool and Beach Rules. Starr will send out finalized copies to each Committee Member. The Conference Meet was a success. Both the Swim Team and the Tennis Team Banquets were a success. The Saddle Club Night was very good, however, there was not as big a turn out as the Premier Night. Vince offered suggestions for open restaurant times. The members will be notified. IDEAS for SPECIAL EVENTS Square Dance New Years Party Halloween Party Valentines Party St. Patricks Day Event Saddle Club Night...... Monthly The B & T Committee will be sending out to the members a positive newsletter. We had a discussion regarding the upcoming election. Vince suggested that there be seven committee members with each ass- igned to a certain position. Ex. liason to civic association, restaurant, etc. We will express an invitation to members to become Committee Members in our newsletter. Future tasks to be accomplished by the committee would in- clude a Membership Directory, Calendar, Special Events Planning, 40 Providing Posters for Events, and Implementing Volleyball, Bas - k etball, Ice Skating. Tom has been informally setting up leagues and various events to be available in the Tennis Dome. A mailing will be sent out • I* giving all the details of the grand opening in September. The Committee discussed sending a letter to the Doings high- lighting all the positive happenings going on at the B & T. A possible second letter would then go out in response to some previous negative thoughts. On October 28th at the Village Hall there will be a discus- sion of the history of the Park District and the Sports Core. We adjourned at 8:30. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday September 22nd at 9:30 in the morning at the Sports Core Office.
