T, Siudz ineki Village Board Sob je ct a Juvenile Report for year ending December 1966 During th© year in,66 this department had contact With 174 Juvenile of:Verldors, Of this total, 117 were males and 57 females. Tho largest rumbar• of contacts were for '"xheft and Shoplifting, 42 ofj"aM are, Alcohol l c bover. ages waa the seoond with 23 contacts. Third was tr&Pf lc with 19. Both Curfew and Valioions Mischief had 10 contacts each. The rest of the contacts ranged from assault to Auto Theft and Probation violators* The part of this report that has bothered me more than anythin is the number of contacts® The year 1964 had 126 contacts, 1925 had 115 contacts* This year's total of 17h contacts showed a 66 o inarease over 1965. The number of contacts this depe rt- ment had with teak Brook Youths was only 11% of the total., out of state Youths, 17f p and 72% were youths from eomyma ities outside of Oak Brn ok. Safety programs cordunted by the Juvenile Bureau during; 1966 at Butler School were quite successful. A total of 217 bievel -es and student riders were run through a safety lane . Movies were made ava? lable to the school by this lepartment to further stress safe cycling; and walking. Traffic Officer %T xxikp Chief Siudzinski and the Juvenile' Bureau worked with General Motors GREEN PENNANT program of Student Safety@ 1't is hoped that continued ;participation in these safety programs will. keep student injuries due to accidents at a minimum. No Oak Brook students were involved in any serious accidents during the year of' 1966. Respectfully submitted, Donald E. Shaw, Juvenile Of`'ieor OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS 6052% EDi4fARD F.
