The first 1959 meeting of the Oak Brook Board of Trustees
met January 13th at 7:30 PM.
Roll was called and the i ieember minutes approved as read.
Capt. Tyrrell spoke briefly telling us of the gift to the
Village of a police car from the Allen Ford Agency of Hinsdale.
Fe also reported to the Board of the purchase of Polioe Stars and
Badges and bookkeeping forms to be used by the police department.
He spoke of the necessity of car insurance, equipment and gasoline.
In closing Capt. Tyrrell read the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics.
He then_ pre rented David Ott.
A motion was made by Mr. Carlson, seconded by Mrs. Peyton
and passed by the Board approving Mueller's Oak Brook :dub Division
Plat as submitted this date. (1 / 13/ 59 )
A discussion followed regarding the three man Board super -
vizing our Police Department; whether this board be called Commiss-
ion or Comm&ttee. At this time M,r. Carlson made the motion, seconded
by vFx. Calhoun and approved by -the Board that it is not the intent
of the Board to come under the Police and Fire Commissioners Act
at this time.
The Board approved President Mohlman'a appointment of Mr.
Paul Utteau as thA second of three members to serve on the above
mentioned Board.
The motion was made by Mr. Kolar, seconded by Yr. Calhoun
approving the appointment by the President of David Ott as a
Lisuenant In the Police Department. Mrs, Peyton asked for a roll
call vote - Mr. Calhoun - yes, Mr. Carlson,- yes, Mr. Kolar - yes,
Mr. Krueger - yea, M,rs. Peyton - abstained, Mr. Mohr yea.
Ayes - 5. Nays a 00 Abstained - 1.

Mrs. Peyton made the motion, -encoyaded,bk Mr, Imeger and
unaminously passed by the Board, thanking Mr. JacJx Bowers-attorney
for the Butler Company for his assistance in establishing the
Villaso of Oak Brook and wishing him the best of luck in bis
campaign for States Attorney,
At 9:20 ?M the motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Carlson,
seconded by Mr. Calhoun and approved by the Board,
