President Howell called for a motion to appoint Mrs. LaVerne Skale as village clerk
pro tem in the absence of Village Clerk Marianne Lakosil.

That Mrs. LaVerne Skale be appointed Village Clerk pro tem in the absence of
Village Clerk Marianne Lakosil.

The regular meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by President Howell. All
trustees were present except Trustee Brown.

That the village board approve the ordinance with the understanding that

the village attorney will revise the ordinance to include recommended
revisions by the Plan Commission and that drawing presented be made an
exhibit of the ordinance.

B. Oak Brook Christian Center Church - Plat of Subdivision

That the recommendation of the Plan Commission be approved including the
installation of decorative entranceway lighting, subject to the approval
of the village engineer, and that the appropriate village officials sign
the Plat.

B. Oak Brook Develo )ment Co. (U.S.Postal Service) Amendment & Variations
Trustee Rush moved - seconded by Trustee Glaves...
That the village attorney prepare an ordinance amending Ord. G -60,
being the Zoning Ordinance to amend Section X B 2.b by the addition
of the following subsection: (0) Post Office operated by the United
States Government as a Special Use. With specific reference to Lot 1,
Oak Brook Plaza, Lot 8 resubdivision, the following action would be
required:
(a) To grant a Special Use Permit in accordance with the provisions of
Section X B 2.b (6) to provide for the construction and operation
of the United States Post Office.
(b) To grant a zoning variation to the provisions of Section XI E 7,
and Section V G 3.b to permit the construction of 25 customer
parking spaces in accordance with the U.S.Postal Service Central

Region Site Plan prepared January 215 1977, and identified as
Drawing CA- 6795 -A.

- Reported one meeting held with Timber Trails Property Owners Assn. re Sports
Core and six meetings scheduled in near future.
Finance & Capital - Trustee Cerne
- Reported Budget on schedule. Preliminary Budget to be discussed at
Committee -of- the -Whole meeting of Feb. 21, 1977.
- Met with Paul D. Speer & Associates and letters soliciting appraisal of the
Sports Core sent to 9 firms.
- Acknowledged receipt of plaque from Municipal Finance Officers Assn.
Public Safety - Trustee Rush
- Reported meeting held on 1 -18 -77 re Emergency Medical Service system. Wishes
subject to be discussed at Committee -of- the -Whole meeting of Feb. 7, 1977.
- Read letter from Chicago Assn. of Commerce & Industry congratulating Oak
Brook Fire Department on receiving first place in Population Class V Fire

Public Works - Trustee Congreve
- Reported shortage of salt deicer.
- Reported Well #6 will be complete this week and Madison St. watermain complete
except three services..
Traffic - Trustee Glaves
- Reported that Village of Westmont would like to widen Cass Avenue from Ogden
to 35th St.
- Reported progress is being made on Route 83 Study being done by James Benes.
- Reported contact was made with DuPage County Highway Dept. re possibility of
signs to indicate road narrowing, etc. So far no signs have arrived or posted.
NEW BUSINESS
A. Open Forum
Mrs Barbara Reynolds, 6 Robin Hood Ranch - asked about our present
policies on Route 83.
Mr. Richard Larson, 115 Oak Brook Road - inquired re reducing speed limit
on Oak Brook Road.
Mrs. Aloha Nettles, 121 Oak Brook Road - commented on heavy trucks using
Oak Brook Road and also speeding.
B. Authority to Bid - Wellhouse #6
Trustee Congreve moved - seconded by Trustee Rush...
To authorize the advertising for bids for the construction of a Wellhouse
building on village -owned parcel at southwest corner of Meyers and Oak
Brook Roads with bids to be received at 10 A.M., February 15, 1977.
