VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK APPROVED AS WRITTEN ON
MAY 8, 2012.
CALL TO ORDER
The Special Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was called to order by President
Gopal Lalmalani in the Samuel E. Dean Board Room of the Butler Government Center at
5:47 pm.
2. ROLL CALL
Village Clerk Charlotte Pruss called the roll with the following persons:
PRESENT: President Gopal Lalmalani, Trustee Stelios Aktipis, Trustee Michael Manzo,
Trustee Mark Moy, Trustee Gerald Wolin, and Trustee Asif Yusuf
ABSENT: Trustee Elaine Zannis
IN ATTENDANCE: Village Manager David Niemeyer, Hyatt General Manager Norm
Canfield
Village Manager Niemeyer discussed the vacancies on the Hotel, Convention and Visitors
Committee and interview questions. Trustee Manzo chaired the meeting with President
Lalmalani observing.
3. DISCUSSION REGARDING BOARD AND COMMISSION APPOINTMENT
INTERVIEWS
Dr. Abbsy entered the meeting at approximately 5:52 p.m.
Trustee Manzo explained the interview process and Dr. Abassy discussed his background
and answered questions by those present in regard to his experience and qualifications.
Dr. Abassy exited the meeting at approximately 6 :06 p.m.
Interview with Mort Kouklan — Requesting Appointment to the Hotel, Convention and
Visitors Committee
Mr. Kouklan entered the meeting at approximately 6:06 p.m.
Trustee Manzo explained the interview process and Mr. Kouklan discussed his
background and answered questions by those present in regard to his experience and
qualifications.
Mr. Kouklan exited the meeting at approximately 6 :19 p.m.

Interview with Mario Vescovi — Requesting Appointment to the Hotel, Convention and
Visitors Committee
Mr. Vescovi entered the meeting at approximately 6:20 p.m.
Trustee Manzo explained the interview process and Mr. Vescovi discussed his
background and answered questions by those present in regard to his experience and
qualifications.
Mr. Vescovi exited the meeting at approximately 6:35 p.m
4. ADJOURN TO CLOSED MEETING — APPOINTMENTS
(Open Meetings Act, Section 2C(3)
Motion by Trustee Wolin, seconded by Trustee Yusuf, to adjourn to closed meeting for the
purpose of appointments 2C(3).
ROLL CALL VOTE:
Ayes: 5 — Trustees Aktipis, Manzo, Moy, Wolin, and Yusuf
Nays: 0 —None
Abstain: 0 — None
Absent: 1 — Trustees Zannis
Motion carried.
This meeting was adjourned and reconvened to Open Meeting at 6:48 p.m.
5. ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Trustee Wolin, seconded by Trustee Aktipis to adjourn the Special Meeting of
the Board of Trustees at 6:48 pm. VOICE VOTE: Motion carried.
