TAI-le Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order by
President Bushy in the Samuel E. Dean Board Room of the Village Commons
at 7: 44 p . m.. Pledge of Allegiance was given.

8. DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS - SPECIALTY AREAS:
Environmental Concerns & Engineering: Trustee Payovich - Homeowners in
the flood plain are required to have flood insurance, and the Village has
received a new Class 8 gating from the Community Rating System. This
new lower rating will give homeowners a 10% discount on their flood
insurance. President Bushy and Trustee Payovich congratulated staff for
their efforts in reclassifying the Village.
Finance I Purchasing: Trustee Bartecki - No report.
Library & Motel, Convention isitors Committee: Trustee McInerney -
The Oak Brook Hotel, Convention and Visitors Committee has recommended
a $40.,000 Summer Advertising Campaign. $8,9000 of these monies is
allocated from State funds by the project co- sponsor, DuPage Convention
and Visitors Bureau.
Personnel & Public Safety: Trustee Kenney - President Bushy announced
Lt. John Meyers of the Fire Department retired effective birch 24, 1994
after serving 19 years with the Village. Firefighter Robert Morton,
effective March 8, 1994, was promoted to Lieutenant. Houlihan's
Restaurant, April 8, 1994, experienced smoke damage from a fire. Fire
damage was limited to the room of origin, but due to a single activated
sprinkler head, the fire was totally extinguished.
President Bushy noted Mark King, Police Department! successfully

a 96.7%. The Oak Brook Fire and Police Commissioners are testing
candidates for police and firefighter /paramedie.
Planning & Zoe: Trustee Skinner - Absent.
Public forks & Cable Television: Trustee Shumate - Oakbrook Terrace
corporate residents requesting water service and McDonald's landscape
presentation will be later on the agenda.
Village Clerk: Clerk Gonnella - Doted her attendance at the monthly
Village Emergency Management meeting, lire Pension Board disability
hearings,, and DuPage County Clerks meeting.
Village President: President Bushy - Announced the Village newsletter has
just been completed for mailing. "ng. She dispensed a new Sports Core rate and
membership pa mphlet which will be wed this month to residents and
members . Bonnie Sartore has booked the Bath & Tennis Club for all but
three dates in April.. Bath & Tennis Manager Sartore will introduce new
staff members at the next Board meeting. Golfers have noted the improved
erosion control of the ponds at the Golf Course. President Bushy stated
she will attend the drivedown to Sp the DuPap Mayors and
Managers Conference, to visit with legislators.

release payment in the amount $2,000 to each of the three Oak Brook
hotels that purchased gift certificates in conjunction with the 1993
Holiday Shopping Campaign . RObL CALL VOTE:

B. BID RECOMMENDATION - 1994 CRACK SEALING PROJECT:
Trustee Payovich stated the bid was $6,000 below the budgeted
amount, and these monies will be used for additional crack sealing.
Motion by Trustee Payovich, seconded by Trustee Bartec%i, to accept
the bid of and award a contract to SKC Construction Company in the
amount of $57,382.32 for the 1994 Crack Sealing Project No. 94-1114
(Timber Trails Subdivision streets, Merry Lane, Fariview Avenue
(excluding C- -D -S), 35th Street (Fairview Avenue to Midwest Road),
Forest Gate Road, 22nd Street (Route 83 to Clearwater Drive) , Spring

Easements agreement which provides that Butler National and the
Tillage will use Field 2 for the g+oK driving range Monday through
Saturday; on Sundays, the VEMW has the right to exclusive use of
Field 2 for polo games; and both Butler and the Village will use Field 1

Bill Doerr, applicant, inquired of this would be a temporary, denial.
President Bushy stated no,, that the Village dec ided.a year ago to deDy
the Oakbrook Terrace water service request. She suggested Mr.
Doerr contact the Oakbrook Terrace MaYOr, as he stated the City
would like to obtain water service from another community or the
DuPage Water Commission.
Trustee Barteeki stated Oak Brook denied the 300 residents Of
Oakbrook Terrace, but this request is different. There is a water lime
directly across the front of the property, and he suggested Oakbrook
Terrace would not wish to link to it when the line is already in ply.
Trustee Bartecki asked if the Village has a legal responsibility.
Trustee Payovich withdrew the motion. Seconded by Trustee
Shumate.
Motion by Trustee Payovich, seconded by Trustee Bartecki, to table
this request to the next Regular Board meeting and direct staff to
investigate if the Village is legally responsible. VOICE VOTE: Motion
carried.

amenity to the Village.

Village permit fees and the right -ems -way security bond; and direct the
Village Attorney to work with McDonatld's attorney to prepare the
necessary, agreement docents. VOICE VOTE: Motion carried.
