G-76 which is an ordinance pertaining to the Police Department. The amend- ment would increase the number of police patrolmn from 20 to 21. Trustee Brown,, Chairman of the Public Safety Connittee commented that this was remanded by the Board at the regular meeting, of April 9 1974, Trustee Brown further commented that the Board of Police & Fire Cmaissioners had appointed qualified applicants for the positions of Lieutenant and Sergeant from the present eligibility list. Properties Committee reported on the proposed budget as had been previously submitted to the Beard at the regular meeting of March 26, 1974. This includes revenue of $2,615,000, expenditures of $200020000, a surplus of $613,000.00 and a cash balance of $2010610.00 at the end of 1975. With this, there should bo no need for a village tax through 1980, unless the State revises the sales tax revenue laws. Trustee Hayes moved - seconded by Trustee Rush... Consolidation of Insurance Each trustee was provided with a copy of a. memo dated April 19, 1974 from Trustee Baschen, Chairman of the Finance, Corporate Planning nd Public Properties Committee, in regard to the committee's review with V4- Village of Oak Brook Insurance Consultant, Mr. A. W. Lott of F. C. Fry 4 Associates Inc., of all the bids received for the consolidation of 'Insurance. It was the Committee's recommendation that the insurance for the Village of Oak Brook be placed with the Bliss Agency, Inc., 900 Jorie Blvd., Oak Brook in the emotmt of $33,341.00 annually. The Committee further recommended $10,000,000 Excess Likability insurance, Civil $ Constitutional Rights and Jusault and Battery insurance, and Liability Insurance to cover Errors and Omissir..s. Trustee Hayes moved - seconded by Trustee Rush... That the recommendation of the Finance, Corporate Planning and Public Properties Committee to place the insurance for the Village of Oak Brook with the Bliss Agency, Inc. of 900 Jorie Blvd., Oak Brook in the amount of $33,341.00 annually, as presented be approved. C. 31st Street (Oak Brook Roads - Route 83 to Midwest Road Each trustee was provi=ded with a coy of a mean® dated April, 16, 1974 from Ronald A. Fold, DuPaga Count), Superintendent of Highways, notifying the Village that the County intends to proceed with the improvement to four lautes of Oak. Brook Road (31st Street) from Route 83 interchange to Midwest Road, and will advertise for bids on April 26, 1974. The County Bosed of Supervisors would execvtte the contract at their meeting of April 30, 1974. Mrs. Muschler reported to the Board that Dr. Stuart Struever, Professor of Archeology at Northwestern University, indicated that archeologists working in the vicinity could conduct a surface study in May in the Oak Brook area, artifacts have been f(hAPd dating back to 8,000 B.C., and photos, mes, and documentation prepared from this survey would mark the beginning of a historical record of Oak Brook. Letters from the Oak Brook Civic Association, Oak Brook Library Association, Oak Brook Women's Club and School District 53 were submitted endorsing this study.
