1. Welcome by Mr. George Howell:
Former Village President, George B. Howell, gave a history of the early
years of the Village of Oak Brook and its founder Paul Butler. Michael W.
Butler, son of the founder of the Village, offered a few comments and his
congratulations to the newly elected officials.
2. Invocation by Dr. Arthur DeKruyter, Christ Church of Oak Brook:
Founding pastor of Christ Church of Oak Brook, Reverend Arthur DeKruyter,
spoke of his long association with the Village and Mr. Butler. He offered a
prayer of benediction for the Village and the newly elected and appointed
officials of Oak Brook.
3. Official Oath of Office:
Village Clerk, Linda K. Gonnella, gave the official oath of office to newly
elected President Karen M. Bushy; Trustees Mach H. Shumate, Jr. and
Alfred P. Savino.
4. Remarks by Newly Elected Officials:
President Bushy, Trustee Shumate and Trustee Savino gave brief remarks
of the concerted effort by appointed and elected officials to maintain the
excellent viability of Oak Brook now and for the future.
Special Meeting commenced from 8:10 p.m. to 9:10 P.M.
