All trustees were present. II READING OF MINUTES Trustee Ruch mowed - seconded by Trustee Congreve. , . That the reading of the minutes of the regular meeting of May 8, 1973_ be susvendted and that they be accepted as sub- mitted. Voice vote - all in favor. So ordered. iII OLD BUSINESS A. Bids received - Public Works Building Each trustee. was provided with a raDurt from Holabird & Root an the eleven (11) bids received for the constraction of the Public Works Building, Trustee Baschen reported on the oven - ing of bids Trustee Baschen moved - seconded by 'Trustee Swain., That Klein Construction Company of Berwyn, Illinois be declared the l.ow'eat responsible bidder and be awarded the contract for the construction of the Public Works Building for the sum of $677,663.OP including the base bid and alternates 2, 3 and 4 and to be completed in 225 days. This Award is contingent on accefltance of certain plan changes and resultant price adjustments by Klein Construction Company, Roil Call Vote: Ares - Trustees Baschen, Browns Congreve, Hayes, Ri sh , Swain and President Howell. Nayes - None So ordered B. Bids Received - Squad Car Replacements Trustee Brown reported on the three ;3': bids received for the replacement of two 2; marked and one ;l7 unmarked squad cars. Trustee Brown moved - seconded by Trustee Congreve- That Jack Douglass Chevrolet, Inc., Hinsdale, Illinois be awarded the contract for three ;3i 1 °73 oolice cars as per aveci-A"ications, for the amount of 56,350 -0'% Roll Call Vote. Bids Received - Fire Dept. - Reolacement Station Wagon Each trustee was provided with copies of four (4'= bids received for the replacement of a station wagon. Trustee Congreve moved - seconded by Trustee Brown.. That Ogden Avenue Motors, Inc. Westmont, Illinois, be awarded the contract for a 1973 Red Mercury iiorterey Station Wagon for the amount of $3,368.77. Water Devartment - Connection PoLig Each trustee was provided with a copy of a letter from Trustee Hayes, Chairman of the Public Mbrks Committee regarding mater connection policy for properties located outside the village limits and outside the former accredited area of the Utility Co. That the recommendations of the Public Wbrka Committee be approved and the Village Attorney be directed to draft the appropriate ordinance to correct the fee schedule of the Public Works Ordinance. Each trustee was provided with a copy of a letter fro Engineer Dunkirk and Public Works Superintendent Wilson on the single bid received for 2 Carryall vehicles for the Engineering Dept. and Public Works Dept. Trustee Hayes moved - seconded by Trustee Congreve... That the bid from McKeown- Phalin Chevrolet Inc. Glen Ellyn be accepted for the seen of $6,688000 for two (23 1973 Nadel vehicles. Mr. Dunkirk reported on the two bids received. Trustee Congreve moved - seconded by Trustee Baschen.. That the avard of a contract for well motor be iven to Layne Western Co,. York Woods Unit V - Sidewalks and Street Li bts Each trustee was provided with a cony of plat of York Moods Unit V together with a oetition for sidewalks for York Woods Unit V dated April S. 1973, and a copy of Plan Commission Minutes of May 21, 1573. Engineer Dunkirk reported on the - Plan Commission meeting. After discussion, President Howell referred the sidewalk requirement for York Woods unit V back to the Plan Commission for a more definitive recommendaticr and requested that the Plan Commission meet with the York Woods Homeowners Association prior to the next regular board meeting. T uetee lush recommended that the street lighting and sidewalk requirement for Yoiic Woods Unit- V be tabled and referred back to the Public Works Committee for further consideration and be presented to the Board at the next regular boars! meeting. After further discussion.., Trustee Baschen moved - seconded by Trustee Rush... That the street Lighting requirement of York floods Unit V be tabled and referred back to the Public Works Committee. ( 31st and Fairfield) Each trustee was provided with a copy of a letter from Trustee Hayes, Public Works Chairman, datec_ May 11, 1973 and a copy of letter from Edward Van de Houten , Jr-, dated May 3, 1973 reaue►sting the village to furnish water to t'%eir develop- ment of approximately 200 townhouse units immedia,:ely west of the Chambord area. Trustee Congreve moved • seconded by Trustee IWsh.., That the Village Attorney be directed to negotiate a contract with Arbor Ltd. furnishing water. Trustee Hayes moved - seconded by Trustee Rush.,, That the request from the York Woods Homeowners Association be referred back to the Public Works Committee for recommend- ation of Village policy in regard to overall York Woods subdivision plan for street lights.
