All span paarticipated.Tested strews by changeing nozzles and tips, worked w/ different pump pressures to show the snen' the types of streams. Ladder drills were conducted, used all types of ground ladders. Trained on types of carriers and raises. Driving classes were conducted with 915 & 916, Also trained on pump operations, hose lays, hydrant hook -ups, drafting and gen- eral overall procedures w/ 915 & 916. Platoon d.-.ills-: All of the subjects that were covered in the regular training sessions were also used for platoon training. The on duty pla- toon trained in the morning hours. Lt Hinger, Lt Clark attended a 2 day seminar on High Rise Fire problems conducted by Fire Chiefs magazine in Chicago. A • W/Vffl a3 -7 .1- VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT Monthly Report of April, 1972 NEW SUBDIVISIONS Jori Boulevard Resubdivision Plat for Lot 6 in Corporate Plaza I was checked, approved and recorded. Vacation Plat and Ordinance for a portion of Jorie Boulevard adjacent to Lot 6 in Corporate Plaza Subdivision I was checked, approved, and recorded. A Revised Plat for Corporate Plaza Unit II was reviewed with the developer. MISCELANNEOUS INSPECTIONS Numerous inspections have been made to examine various street and drainage pro- blems, and wort: being done on approved permits. Numerous inspections were made in conjunction with Hinsdale Sanitary District Trunk Sewer Job and Special Assessment Jobs. Regular inspections have been made of the new Fire Station. MISCELLANEOUS Work on the new Culvert to carry Ginger Creek under Royal Vale Drive has been completed except for final clean up and paving. The widening work for Oak Brook Road from the Route 83 Grade Separation to Spring Road has been reviewed in meetings with state Division of Highways and DuPage County Highway Department. Correction of the original drawings and negatives for the Comprehensive Plan plates has been partially completed. A meeting was attended at Division of Highways office in Elgin re long -range plans for Route 83. A memo was prepared on this following the meeting. DuPage County Highway Department proposals for widening of York Road south of Oak Brook Road and Oak Brook Road east from York Road to the Toll Road were reviewed and possible alternate layouts prepared and presented at a public meeting at Butler School. A meeting with NIPC officials at Hinsdale Sani '.ary District office was attended re grant approval for Trunk Sewer extensions. A memo re this was prepaz -ed foll- owing the meeting. Items discussed were EPA problems, status of new traffic manual (action on which has been delayed unreasonably by the Division of Highways). Problems and fund status of TOPICS and URBAN SYSTEM projects, and status of legislation that would effect Public Works operations. As a member of the review committee for the new St4te - Traffic Manual, I was furnished draft copies of the Pavement Marking, School, and Traffic Signal Chapters, The committee reviewed and recommended ir=ediate adoption of the Pavement Marking chapter (which is to be followed this +ear and provides for yellow only to be used hetween all opposing traffic movements and white to be used between lanes rtoving in the same direction).
