May 11th; 1,971_ be suspended and th.:t they be accepted as
submitted subject to the following change,

"31st Street."

of Butterfieil Road to be know as Oak Brook International Off :ce

Each trustee was arov ided with a proposed ordinance amending
Ordinance G -60_ to provide for an increase in filing fees for
a variation application from $100.00 to $150.00.

creating the "Oak, Brook Froo public Library" together with an
Agreement betweetn the Oak Brook Library Assooietion and the
V 11ag;e of Oak Brook dated May 25th, 1972.

That the village board approve the ograemnt and adopt
Ordinance S -225 naming Ervin Bahnsen (three year term),
Bonnie CArle (two year term) ;dad Russell Fayles (one year
hero) as commissioners of said library abject to the
library board's execution of said agreement.

Each trustee was provided with a copy of an ordinance
establishing the building code for multi - family buildings
within the Village of Oak Brook.

board .

A. Surface Parki 5tandardu
Each trustee was provided with a complete file regarding a
surface parking standards amendment to the zoning ordinance
After discussion it was unanimously decided that Administrator
Urhausen study this matter further with consideration being
given to retaining a consultant.
B. 1971 -72 Corporate Operating &!# et
Each trustee was orovided with a revised copy of the 1971 -72
budget incorporating the board's recot®endad changes per their
special meeting which took place on Hay 20th, 1971.
Trustee O'Brien moved - seconded by Trustee Howell...
That the 1971 -72 corporate operating, budget in the amount
of S1, 742, CSC be approved an presented, and that the village
attorney be instructed to prepare an Appropriation Ordinance
shoving an increase of LCM of budgeted items for passage at
the board's next regular meeting.

VI NEW BUSINESS
A. Salanf Increase
'trustee Howell reported that the 941 .Ary administration
comaitteg, recommended a 7% salary increase to all village
employes, except deoartment head&, to be effective with
the first pay period in June, 1971. Ho also stated that
a merit program for village employee we under discussion
and would be submitted for approval within a fear months.
Trustee Howell moved - seconded by Trustee Congreve.,.
That a 7% salary increase be given to all village employes,,
with the exception of department heads, effective with the
first pay period in June, 1971.

H. pedestrian, Safety --Windsor and York
Administrator Urhausen stated that President Dean had received
several letters from residents who expressed concern with
respect to the tragic death of John Vock on May 12th, 1971,
and reported an the progress and specific study which in
being made which will result in raecoomendations on hone to
iWrove pedestrian. and traffic safety at the intersection of
York Rated and Windsor Drive.
Mac. Colin Couper presented a petition sigxaed by 772 residents
of Oak Brook and a resolution signed by Paul Francis, President,
and Phillip Qaringer, Secretary, of the Hoard of Education
renuesting that consideration be given ::o the installation of
a traffic signal an York and Windsor and a lower &peed limit
an York Road.
President: Dem. on behalf of the board, stated that everything
possible was being done in order to prevent this type of
tragedy from haapening in Oak Brook ever again.
C. Civic Association Newsletter
Each trustee was provided with a copy of a letter written by
Administrator Urhausen to Mfrs. Stephanie Graavelle, dated
ftw 14th, 1971, recammending that the village enter into an
egreement with the Civic Association to provide a monthly
newsletter to Oak Brook residents. After discussion, it was
unanimously decided that tine village not enter into this
arrangement at this time.
