MEETING CALL:
The Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order at 7 :30 P.M. in
the Samuel E. Dean Board Room of the Village Commons by President Cerne.

A. SPORTS CORE BUILDING - ALTERNATE SITES
Trustee Philip moved...
To locate the Sports Core Office Building near the old air strip
with access from Oak Brook Road.
Motion died for lack of a second.
Trustee Listecki moved, seconded by Trustee Watson...
That staff proceed with design plans for locating the Sports Core
Office Building in a suitable location near the Bath and Tennis Club
parking area.

B. JANITORIAL SERVICES
Tabled at the Regular Meeting of June 12, 1984.
Trustee Imrie moved, seconded by Trustee Philip...
To extend the present contract with Active Empire Maintenance for
six (6) months to allow the contractor an opportunity to improve
service.
With the consent of the seconder, Trustee Imrie withdrew the motion.

To accept the low bid of Active Empire Maintenance for janitorial
services at a cost of $19,704.00 annually and after a six (6) month
evaluation is made and if dissatisfaction is shown, the Village may
exercise their right of cancellation.

Staff was directed to prepare a progress report after thirty (30) days.
C. STABLING TRACT - REQUEST BY BUTLER COMPANY
Staff was directed to prepare a preliminary review of alternate sites
in the Sports Core area for review at the Committee -of- the -Whole meeting
of August 13, 1984.
D. REPORT OF ACTIVITIES
Trustee Rush - Finance and Library - No report
Trustee Watson - Personnel - No report
Trustee Listecki - Public Safety & Misc. - Stated that the Roosevelt
Road road improvement to Drury Lane is progressing and the County has approved
the S -Curve for Meyers Road.
Trustee Imrie - Public Works - Said thaU Well #2 is operational but
has not been tested. The Public Works Department has designed a sign standard for
Pedestrian /Bicycle Path.

Trustee Philip - Sports Core - Mentioned that activity, as well as
resident membership has increased at the Bath and Tennis Club.
Trustee Maher - Zoning and Planning - Said signage for the Village
Commons is being reviewed again.
VI. NEW BUSINESS
A. 1984 PAYING PROJECT NO. 84- 1106(ADAMS ROAD, BRADFORD LANE /HUNT
CLUB LANE, CO- AIKERCE DRIVE McDONALD's DRIVE, 22ND STREET -5,
YORK ROAD HARDER ROAD MEDIAN
1) RECOMMENDATION - AWARD OF CONTRACT
Three (3) bids were received on June 19, 1984.
Trustee Imrie moved, seconded by Trustee Philip...
To award the contract for Paving Project #84 -1106, to Robert R.
Anderson Company in the total amount of $386,914.25.

2) RECOMMENDATION - SOIL TESTING
Seven (7) proposals were solicited for soil testing service.

To authorize a Purchase Order in the amount of $14,250.00 to the Claude
H. Hurley Company and waive bidding on the basis of the company's past
performance and expertise in soil testing.

B. REQUEST - CHANGE OF GRADE - LOT 41 (607 MIDWEST CLUB)
Request was made by David and Lillian Chui to raise the natural
ground leve] elevations by three (3) feet, due to water filled
excavation.

To refer this matter to the Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting of July 3,
1984 for a Public Hearing, all required filing and publication having
beed made prior to this meeting.

C. SPORTS CORE -- SEALING WELLS
Proposals have been solicited to plug abandoned wells on the Sports
property, as required by the Du Page County Health Department.

To accept the proposal from Meadow Equipment Sales and Service, Inc.
and authorize an expenditure not to exceed $1,590.00 for the sealing of
five (5) wells.

D. McDONALD's IMPROVEMENT PLAN - RONALD LANE NORTH OF OAK BROOK ROAD
Request by the McDonald Corporation to pave a swale on the north
side of Oak Brook Road between Spring Road and Ronald Lane, to
curb Ronald Lane North of Oak Brook Road and construct an eighteen
(18) foot high retaining wall on the East side of Ronald Lane, North
of Oak Brook Road.

To approve a variation to the Improvement Plan for McDonald's
Corporation as summarized in letter from David Gooder dated May
309 1984.
