MEETING CALL: The Rao —lar Meeting of the Board of Trustees was Called to order by President Bushy in the Samuel E. Dean Board Room of the Village Commons at 7:39 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance was given. 2. ROLL CALL,: The Clerk called the roll with the following persons PRESENT: President Bushy, Trustees Bartecki, Krafthefer, Payovich, Shumate, Skinner and Winters. ABSENT: None. Trustee Payovich exited the meeting at 7:40 P.M. for a meeting with applicant. 3. ANN WNCEMENTS AND OPEN FORUM: Village Manager Berley stated the Village has received approval from the County Chief of Traffic Plans and Program for landscape replacement at Meyers Road and 31st Street (Oak Brook Road). Manager Berley further announced his contacti ,±g the State for analysis of a lower speed zone on Oak Brook Road from the east to the west Village boundaries. President Bushy requested the Liaison Trustee to the Police Department, Trustee Winters, to assist in this analysis with Manager Berley and the Police Department and report to the Board. 4. CONS' mr AGENDA: Trustee Skinner moved to approve the Consent Agenda. Seconded by Trustee Payovich. Trustee winters requested the Bid Authorization for Installation of the New Library Roof be removed from the Consent Agenda and placed on "Items Removed From Consent Agenda" for further discussion. Trustee Payovich moved to authorize Staff to solicit bids for the installation of a new roof on the Village's Library. Trustee Winters seconded the motion. Voice Vote: Motion carried. 6. DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS - SPECIALTY AREAS: Finance; Purchasin • and Hotel Convention & Visitors Committee: Trustee Brartecki _ The annual audit is in progress and the Sports Core accounting is progressing with more coMarative reporting. LIBRARY ROOF S. vos.- ecor. MW I- q-»qf 6 22rts Core: Trustee Krafthefer - Stated the Rath & Tennis revenues have .increased to $14,512.00 over last year's figures.' The Golf Coarse has shown a record amount of revenue to date due to increased rounds of golf this season. The Polo Club has received moderate attendance for regular matches and verb good attendance for international matches. Trustee Krafthefer stated the July 3rd celebration was well received and complimented Staff for they efforts. President Rushy recommended the orchestra entertainment for the 1992 event include a dance platform area. The Sports Core Business Plan will be refined and brought to the Village Board for further discussion at the August Committee -of- the - Whole meeting. Environmental Concerns & Public Works: Trustee Payotrich - The OCV valve at Reservoir B (2710 Meyers Road) is now functional and operational. Village Engineer Durfey is coordinating with Harza Engineering on the Punch. Dist. Trustee Payovich requested Staff to thank the Homeowner Association Presidents for notifying residents of water sprinkling regulations and obedience of same. President Bushy thanked the Public Works Staff on behalf of the Village Board for their diligence in monitoring the water usage and maintenance of the water sprinkling regulations. Personnel & Libras: Trustee Shumate - As Personnel Liaison Trustee announced, his first employee meeting was held with Staff to discuss personnel. Another meeting is scheduled for July 18th with the Public Works Department personnel. Eon inc� & PlannIM: Trustee Skinner - No report. Public 'Safes: Trustee sinters - the Fire Department participated in the Downers Grove and Hinsdale July 4th parades displaying the Village's aerial ladder truck. On July 7th, the Village assisted Hinsdale at the Hinsdale Cardiac Rehabilitation Facility fire. Forty -three (43) residents and eight (R) coMmercial tenants have requested CENS receivers. Trustee Winters requested the press to publicize the .importance of these receivers to residents. The Police Depa-itment apprehended a known felon, after further Investigation with the FBI found the felon to be involved in numerous bank robberies in Chicago. On July 12th, the Police Department will receive nine new 1991 Chevy Caprice squad cars. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: A. Seconded by Trustee Minters. Voice Vote: Motion carried. President Bushy announced her appointment of Patrick Goy to the Police Pension. Board. 10. FINANCIAL: A.
