CALL TO ORDER
The Special Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was called to order by Village Clerk,
Charlotte Pruss in the Upper Level Conference Room of the Butler Government Center at 6:34
p.m.
2. ROLL CALL
Village Clerk Charlotte Pruss called the roll with the following persons:
PRESENT: Trustees Stelios Aktipis, Jim Carson, Moin Saiyed, Gerald Wolin
ABSENT: President Craig, Trustees Moy and Zannis
IN ATTENDANCE: David Niemeyer, Village Manager; Meg Klinkow - Hartmann, Library
Director, Robert Kallien, Community Development Director.
Clerk Pruss called for an Acting Chairman for tonight's meeting. Trustee Aktipis motioned,
Trustee Carson seconded, to have Trustee Wolin chair tonight's meeting.
This Special Meeting is called to conduct interviews for recommendations of the appointments to
the Board of Fire and Police Commission, Library Commission, Hotel Convention & Visitors
Committee, Commercial Revitalization Task Force and the Plan Commission.
Trustee Wolin welcomed each applicant and began the interview with a brief explanation of the
process.
INTERVIEW OF APPLICANTS FOR BOARD COMMITTEE AND COMMISSIONS
There were a total of 10 residents interviewed who applied for the various Boards, Commissions
and Committees.
Trustee Wolin was pleased with the process and the good quality people who applied for these
appointments.
Discussion was held on the process for moving forward with recommendations to the Village
President for appointment.
4. RECOMMENDATIONS TO VILLAGE PRESIDENT
Plan Commission. Trustee Aktipis motioned, seconded by Trustee Saiyed that all candidates
who were interviewed tonight for the Plan Commission are qualified and recommended for
appointment. VOICE VOTE. Motion carried.
Board of Fire and Police Commission. Each applicant was individually reviewed and a
consensus was formed for a recommendation to the Village President for appointment to the
Board of Fire and Police Commission.
Commercial Revitalization Task Force. No recommendations to this Committee at this time.
Hotel Convention and Visitors Committee. Each applicant was individually reviewed and a
consensus was formed for recommendations to the Village President for appointment to the Hotel
Convention and Visitors Committee.

Library Commission. Each applicant was individually reviewed and a consensus was formed for
recommendations to the Village President for appointment to the Library Commission.
5. ADJOURN
Trustee Aktipis motioned, seconded by Trustee Carson to adjourn the special meeting of August
10, 2009 at 10:00 p.m. VOICE VOTE. Motioned carried.
