Envirc- �ntal Concerns and Engineering: Trustee Payovich - Bill Cussen has
bee , ,eed as the neN Civil Engineer as of August 24, 1994.
Finance and Purcohasina,: Trustee Bartecki - No report was gi�jen.
Libra[y and Hotel. Convention & Visitors Committee: Trustee McInerney - Hotel
tax receipts have increased by approximately $6,000.00 as of July, 1994. The
Drake Hotel has not submitted their receipts for July.
Librarian Martin noted the Library's SeptemberFest held September 10, 1994 was
very successful. Approximately 300 people toured the facility during the event.
Personnel and Public Safety: Trustee Kenny - The Oak Brook Police Department
has received numerous letters commending our officers for their assistance to our
citizens.
Planning and Planning: Trustee Shumate - Has attended his first zoning meeting
as Liaison Trustee. He spoke with Village Manager Veitch and requested Village
Attorney Martens to present the procedures to follow during hearings for our two
Commissions and Village Board.
Public Works and Cable Television: Trustee Calzaretta - No report was given.

Village President: President Bushy - A disaster drill for the Village was held
September 11, 1994 on the Sports Core property. Tentatively, in January, 1995,
a separate Committee-of-the-Whole meeting will be scheduled for disaster
preparedness and planning. Over three- hundred (300) Great Lakes Naval Base
sailors served as victims at the disaster drill, fifteen (15) hospitals received
patients testing their systems, while the Village tested their emergency operating
center, telephone and radio capabilities. Further information from this event will
be discussed at the Committee-of-the-Whole meeting in January.
On October 20, 1994, a breakfast has been scheduied at the Bath & Tennis Club
for residential realtors who routinely do business in the Oak Brook market. The
Village will be giving the realtors a packet of information regarding Oak Brook. A
similar breakfast will be held later for the commercial realtors.
President Bushy noted her attendance of a seminar hosted by the area
congressmen regarding the Information Superhighway and the effect the
electronics explosion will have on the future of this country. The Village Manager
and President will be meeting with one of the presenters of the seminar to discuss
how the Village of Oak Brook can pursue this new technology.

Village has been very accommodating with the project but that the extension
deadline m --st be met and that sanctions may occur if the project goes beyond
the extei mlor date.
Trustee Shumate noted he voted against the project, as the petitioner had
stated the request to rehabilitate an existing structure, and now it has a new
foundation. Piles of wood were saved from the mouse, and he assumes it will
be placed in the home to meet the 40% requirement of the Ordinance to
rehabilitate a structure.
President Bushy noted the difficulty of developing a small parcel of land in Oak
Brook. She stated the County absorbed part of this parcel in the widening of
31st Street and the widening of Midwest Road at the intersection.

to Group 1 Resources, Inc., of Lombard, as the Information System Analysis
consultant for Phase I of the system's needs of the Village in an amount not to
exceed $39,600.00, including the estimated reimbursables and tre ~-fir funds
of $19,800.00 from the Contingency Fund for partial cost of the fee.
Trustee McInerney asked for clarification of the bid, as it is not the lowest bid.
Purchasing Director Kapff explained the Request For Proposal procedure.
Village Attorney Martens requested the inclusion to waive the competitive bid
process due to the professional services.
Motion by Trustee Bartecki, seconded by Trustee r�enny, to amend the motion
to ward a contract to Group 1 Resources, Inc., of Lombard, as the Information
System Analysis consultant for Phase I of the system's needs of the Village in
