MEETING CALL:
The Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order by President
{ Cerne in the Samuel E. Dean Board Room of the Village Commons at 7:30 P.M..

VI. OLD BUSINESS:
A. American Taxi Dispatch - Request For Additional Vehicles:
Tabled at the Regular Meeting of September 27, 1983.
Trustee Listecki moved, seconded by Trustee Rush ...
To approve the request of American Taxi Dispatch to increase the number of
of vehicles licensed to operate within the Village from eight (8) to
twelve (12), conditioned to receipt of the executed agreements relating to
dispatching and licensing as provided for in the documents between American
Taxi and the individual owners; plus copies of any of American Taxi's
insurance policies covering the operation of the vehicles and the insurance
certificates covering the individual taxicabs.

The Village Attorney was directed to draft an amendment to Article 11 of
Chapter 8 of the Code of Ordinances requiring a quarterly safety inspection of
all licensed taxicabs.

B. Authorization To Advertise For Bids - Drafting Pit -
Fire Department:
Trustee Rush moved, seconded by Trustee Philip ...
To authorize advertising for bids for the construction of a Drafting
Pit Facility, and the removal and repair of the existing Drafting Pit
site, located at Fire Station #1, 1212 Oak Brook Road, with bids to be
received by 11:00 A.M. on November 16, 1983.
VOICE VOTE: All present, in favor. So ordered.
C. Recommendation - Computer Sciences Corporation - Parking and
Loading Variations (815 Commerce Drive):
On October 18, 1983 the Zoning Board of Appeals recommended approval of the
requested variations.

To concur with the recommendation of the Zoning Board of Appeals and grant
the variations as outlined in memorandum dated October 20, 1983 from
Assistant to Village Manager Kapf, f , subject to the following: 1) The
variations granted be limited to this structure only; 2) Provide adequate
landscape screening in the Front, Side, and Rear Yards; and 3) Fire
Protection policies be continued and that the Village Attorney prepare
the required ordinance.

D. Report of Activities:
1. Finance & Library: Trustee Rush - Library personnel training to use
computer. Some long -term investments will not mature within the
fiscal year.
2. Personnel: Trustee Maher - No report.
3. Public Safety & Traffic: Trustee Listecki - Intensive training programs
by Police & Fire Departments.
4. Public Works: Trustee Imrie -
Trustee Imrie moved, seconded by Trustee Philip ...
To extend the permitted hours for lawn sprinkling from 9:00 PM /7:OOAM
to 7:00 PM /7 :00 AM, and that the Village Attorney prepare
the necessary ordinance to amend Section 12 -405 of the Code of Ordinances
of the Village of Oak Brook.

5. Sports Core: Trustee Philip -

To close the Bath & Tennis Club to allow for clewing of the facility, for
the week of December 24, 1983 through January 1, 1984, with reopening
scheduled for January 2, 1984.

VII. NEW BUSINESS:
A. Cable Television:
The unanimous consensus was that the Village has no interest in considering
the feasibility of a consortium to study the possibility of joint - franchising
for cable television.
B. Open Forum: No one appeared.

C. Dedication of Library Plague
Dedication of the Theodore A. Mohlman Board Room Plaque in the Oak Brook
Free Public Library to be held immediately following the adjournment of this
Regular Meeting. Mr. Mohlman served as the first Village President from
1958 to 1967.
