Roll was called and the October minutes read; these being approved by the Board as recd. The President presented the motion appointing Ju.Ljus Butler as Police Chief. 14r. Kolar made the motion to approve the appo'ntment but 1fr. Butler asked that before the voting he be given a chance to say a few words. He gave us a very interesting run down on police department work and related to ua the views of some people who have been in police work for a number of years. He closed saying he could not fulfill the job of Police thief and there- fore rafused the appointment, Mr. Kolar withdrew his motion. Mr. Carlson made the motion seconded by Yx. Kolar naming Mr. Julius Butler chairman of a Police Commission consisting of 3 members, the other two to be appointed by Mr. Butler with the approval of the Board, to organize a police force for the Village. The clerk read a court order regarding the Petetion to annex oertalb unincorporated territory to the Villt ® of Oakbrook. The ordinance annexing this territory was read by Mr. �johlman and m shall be known as S -9. Calhoun made the motion seconded by Mrs. Peyton to approve the appoint- ment of these 7 members, the motion then being passed by the Board.
