The caller stated that an office and printing business was being conducted from said site. The caller al..o stated that he felt there were numerous safety hazards in existence. In checking the Zoning for this area, we 4in3 that the Zoning is R-1/2. Under the present zoning this is not a pe:-t,.itted use. A check of this facility on the 7th of November 1963 by this writer brought to light the following facts: 1. It appears that said business is being conducted in a remodeled Garage at the rear of the Melvin residence. 2. Said business appears to go under the name of Partake, Inc. - Partake Prese. 3. Stationery, books and a printing press were in evidence upon entering the first floor entry door., One male employee was also in evidence on the fir :t floor, 4. Upon looking around the first floor it was noted that cardboard cartons were blocking the rear exit door. This could be construed as a fire and safety hazard. 5. Printing inks were not stored in accepted repositories, This is also a fire and safety violation. 6. Another observation was the complete absence of fire extinguishers. 7. Proceeding to the second floor we found it to be laid out and equipped as an office. Two (2) stenographers were working in this area. A. There appeared to be no secondary exit from this area. This could also be a fire and safety hazard,. 9. Upon reporting these facts to Mr. Wight, Building Commissioner, be notified the Village Attorney, the Fire Chief and the village Board President of this situaticn. F. H.
