VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK APPROVED AS WRITTEN ON
JANUARY 25, 2011.
1. CALL TO ORDER
The Special Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was called to order by President John
W. Craig in the Samuel E. Dean Board Room of the Butler Government Center at 7:02 pm.
ROLL CALL
Village Clerk Charlotte Pruss called the roll with the following persons:
PRESENT: President John W. Craig, Trustees Stelios Aktipis, James Carson, Mark Moy,
Moin Saiyed, Gerald Wolin and Elaine Zannis.
ABSENT: None.
IN ATTENDANCE: David Niemeyer, Village Manager; Blaine Wing, Assistant Village
Manager; Robert Kallien, Community Development Director; Sharon Dangles, Finance
Director; Thomas McEllin, Fire Chief; Sue Madorin, Library Director; Thomas Sheahan,
Police Chief (arrived at 7:10 pm); Michael Hullihan, Public Works Director; Trey
VanDyke, Sports Core Director; and Mark Sterk, Village Attorney.
PUBLIC HEARING — PROPOSED 2011 BUDGET
The Village President and Board of Trustees conducted a public hearing on the proposed
budget for the Village of Oak Brook for the twelve -month calendar year commencing
January 1, 2011 and ending December 31, 2011.
Finance Director Sharon Dangles gave a brief presentation of the proposed final 2011
budget.
Resident Bill Lindeman questioned the $139,500 and $15,000 commitment to the Chamber
of Commerce and asked Board members to reduce the amounts. Resident Lindeman also
discussed the Police Department Study, Pensions, Early Retirement Incentive and the
Citizens Finance Committee.
4. ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Trustee Aktipis, seconded by Trustee Carson to adjourn the Special Meeting of
the Board of Trustees at 7:19 pm. VOICE VOTE: Motion carried.
