Why Should I Place a Hold?
Holds reserve your spot in line for popular items
Holds indicate that staff may need to purchase more
copies of an item
Items on hold receive priority treatment for faster
processing
Items without holds can be requested by other libraries in
SWAN
So come May 2 place a hold on any
of the almost 10 million items in
SWAN!
We’re Joining SWAN!
Our library community is growing! On May 1 we are joining the
SWAN library consortium (https://www.swanlibraries.net/).
While we are busy working to make this transition as seamless
as possible for you, it is important to share a few mile markers
you will see on this road trip.
April 18-May 1 – Partial Catalog Freeze
During this period, the Library cannot add new material to the
library catalog. This means you will see a delay in adding the
latest best sellers on the shelf. Other than availability of brand
new materials for you to check out, this freeze should have
minimal impact on you.
April 28-May 1 – “Checkout-Only” Period
During this time, you can check out material, but that activity
will not be reflected immediately in My Account in the online
catalog.
Guitarra Azul
Friends of the Library’s Evergreen Concert
Sunday, May 6 @ 3 pm
For an afternoon of stunning musical entertainment, plan on
attending the Spring Evergreen Concert in the Friends
Meeting Room at the Library. The concert will feature
Guitarra Azul, the Chicago-based Latin band that performs
an exciting blend of Rumba Flamenco, Latin Jazz and World
Sounds with intoxicating Latin
percussion and fiery Spanish guitars.
They perform as an ensemble with
the passion only authentic flamenco
can bring.
The Evergreen Concert is free to
the public and no reservations are
required.
Refreshments will be served
following the performance.
