We’re Joining SWAN! Our library community is growing! On May 1 we are joining the SWAN library consortium (https://www.swanlibraries.net/). While we are busy working to make this transition as seamless as possible for you, it is important to share a few mile markers you will see on this road trip. April 18-May 1 – Partial Catalog Freeze During this period, the Library cannot add new material to the library catalog. This means you will see a delay in adding the latest best sellers on the shelf. Other than availability of brand new materials for you to check out, this freeze should have minimal impact on you. April 28-May 1 – “Checkout-Only” Period During this time, you can check out material, but that activity will not be reflected immediately in My Account in the online catalog. Guitarra Azul Friends of the Library’s Evergreen Concert Sunday, May 6 @ 3 pm For an afternoon of stunning musical entertainment, plan on attending the Spring Evergreen Concert in the Friends Meeting Room at the Library. The concert will feature Guitarra Azul, the Chicago-based Latin band that performs an exciting blend of Rumba Flamenco, Latin Jazz and World Sounds with intoxicating Latin percussion and fiery Spanish guitars. They perform as an ensemble with the passion only authentic flamenco can bring. The Evergreen Concert is free to the public and no reservations are required. Refreshments will be served following the performance. Ages 4 & up. 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Sign up your newborn, infant or toddler for our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program. This ongoing program will help build your child’s vocabulary, print awareness, early literacy skills and more as you read 1000 books before they start their first day of Kindergarten.
