GOLF CLUB UPDATES- Sean Creed
A. Renovation Update: Pro Shop and Patio - Sean Creed explained that there have been some recent
changes. He met with Design Group to get prices for the next phase of the project. The cost came
in at $34,000 ($18,000 plarea). He and Manager Ginex met with Development Services and it
was determined that the Village can do the work on the Pro Shop. Sean then requested a price for
the Patio, which will be contracted out. Price came back at $16,000. He will present this to the
Village Board for approval at the next meeting and patio work will begin approximately
September/October. Manager Ginex mentioned that this will see a big savings in the budget.
B. Golf, Bath & Tennis Club Signage Update - Sean Creed mentioned that the golf club signage is
ordered and will be installed. Manager Ginex distributed sign designs for the Bath & Tennis
Club. Last quote received was for $29,000. $15,000 was already included in the budget for the
sign and he also had funds budgeted for additional chairs and possible slide at the pool. He feels
there is plenty of chairs, and we will not install a slide this year. He is going to order small side
tables for the pool deck. The Park District is requested a taller lifeguard chair that has been
ordered. Manager Ginex signed an agreement with Aquapure to open/close the pool.
Signage discussion was based on the Committee's request for continuity of all signage
throughout the Sports Core. Signage needs to be implemented that brands the Oak Brook Sports
Core. Manager Ginex mentioned that the brush and buckthorn have been removed along the
Bath & Tennis Club drive and around the pool and grounds. Discussion ensued.
After much discussion, it was determined to table the signage discussion until the next meeting.
BATH & TENNIS CLUB - BROCHURE - Per the current brochure emailed to the Committee, the
tennis lessons are not set up to accommodate kids to do swim lessons and then attend tennis lessons
back-to-back. Discussion ensued.
SCAC 3-15-18 Mtg Minutes
Manager Ginex explained that the brochures are currently at the printer and will be delivered directly
to the Post Office. The renewal of membership letters will be going out soon. The Park District is
working on our website and updating the Facebook page as well. Park District staff and Village staff
did a greatjob.
Manager Ginex explained that Public Works will be building a new pier in pond area and getting
prices on new paddle boats.
Member Martin recommends before the Village spends any money on new amenities at the pool, we
should survey the people who attend and what they would like to see at the pool.
Manager Ginex will be meeting with Mike Patrick at the Tennis Hut next week.
DONATIONS TO FUNDRAISERS
A. Bath & Tennis Club - many options were discussed. It was the consensus of the Committee that
the Village donates an afternoon of swim for four, plus a credit to the snack shack. Only 5
separate donations per year.
B. Golf Club - currently the Village Golf Club donates rounds of golf to various groups
CLUBHOUSE RENTAL RATES FOR NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS - Currently the clubhouse
does not have a separate rate geared towards not-for-profits. Discussion ensued. The Committee
consensus is that the lower weekly rate that is currently offered, is a rate consistent with costs
associated with the set up/breakdown, cleaning fees, paid staff, supplies, etc. to host a meeting/event
during the week.
OTHER BUSINESS - Polo - Discussion about placing Sports Core brochures at the Village Tent to
possibly solicit memberships.
Discussion about food in the snack shack. This will be placed on the next meeting agenda.
Bath & Tennis Club sign. Manager Ginex will send out the new designs of the sign to the Committee
via email.
Next meeting May 3,2018 at 7:00 PM.
ADJOURN MEETING - Chairwomen Lopez adjourned the meeting at 8:41 p.m.
