Retirement: What’s Your Plan?
Tuesday, May 7 @ 7 pm
This seminar goes beyond just the basics and takes a deeper dive into
retirement planning, awareness, analytics and strategies. Professionals
from GCG Financial will discuss advanced planning techniques, such as
Monte Carlo Analyses, Sequence of Return analyzation, long-term health
care strategies, and stress testing potential financial situations or events
that can affect the health of your retirement.
Yoga and Self-Care for Busy People
Saturday, May 11 @ 2 pm
In an era of mounting stress and anxiety from competing demands, taking on
too much at work and at home, and rushing around for everyone but yourself -
it's common for self-care to fall off your to-do list, especially as a busy person.
Local author Julie Gentile will discuss her new book, 108 Yoga and Self -Care
Practices for Busy Mamas, which will teach you practical ways to stand up for
your self-care, including yoga stretches and simple meditations, so that you
can more fully enjoy your busy life.
Young Kim: Tchaikovsky: His Life, Music and Ballet

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky forever changed the world of ballet with Swan Lake
and The Nutcracker. Join Young Kim for an afternoon lecture about the life
and music of this Russian composer, while enjoying some of his symphonies,
concertos, operas, ballets and chamber music.
Meditation for Optimal Well Being

People have been practicing meditation for centuries and today we see a surge in its
popularity as new benefits continue to be discovered. Renate Lanotte, MS LCSW
Psychotherapist, will show you how to incorporate the simple techniques to include the
positive effects of mediation into everyday life.
Walt Whitman: An American
Friday, May 31 @ 1 pm
Walt Whitman, whose verse collection Leaves of Grass is a landmark in the
history of American literature, was born on May 31, 1819. Join College of
DuPage instructor, Frank Serafino, as he celebrates the 200th anniversary of
the birth of “America’s National Poet” and the “Father of Free Verse.”

Friends of the Library’s Evergreen Concert
The Sinatra Experience and More
Sunday, May 5 @ 3 pm
The Spring Evergreen Concert is sure to leave you singing!
Join us for “The Sinatra Experience and More,” featuring Steve
Jacobs (aka Stevie Swing) and backup musicians Kent
Wehman (piano), Brian Patti (saxophone, flute and clarinet) and
Ken Haebich (string bass). Performed as a Sinatra concert, this
tribute to ‘Ol Blue Eyes will include
selections from the 50’s Capital Years,
the 60’s Rat Pack Years, and the
70’s-80’s Concert Years. Steve will
also perform favorites from Dean Martin
and other famous crooners.
The Evergreen Concert is free to the
public, and no reservations are
required. We will hold a drawing for a
free CD, and refreshments will be
served following the performance.
Man With The Golden Arm

Algren, the film is an honest look at a drummer
struggling to overcome drug addiction. Starring
