Illinois Watercolor Society Meeting & Demonstration
Saturday, June 1 @ 10 am
Featured artist: George Bruce. After retiring from corporate graphic design, George studied
watercolor under Dick Shipley and took several workshops in watercolor from nationally
known artists and later discovered the world of oil pastel from George Shipperely.
Annual Garden Containers
Tuesday, June 4 @ 7 pm
Create an annual garden container with local florist, Peggy Garvin of Garvin
Gardens. $10.00 per person fee due before class includes all materials. Bring
gardening gloves if you’d like. Limited registrations! Sponsored by Friends of

Stonewall 1969: Birth of the Modern Gay Rights Movement
Saturday, June 15 @ 2 pm
The summer of 1969 marked a turning point in the LGBTQ movement
during the Stonewall riots. Join College of DuPage instructor, Frank
Serafino, as he recounts the struggle to end discrimination in the areas of
religion, law and the medical profession over the past 50 years.
RTA Mobility
Wednesday, June 19 @ 10 am
Accessible Metra, Pace and CTA buses and trains are easy to use and
Sarah Blair of the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) would love to
show you how! There will be time for questions and signing up for a
Reduced Fare card to get half off on Metra, Pace and CTA, if eligible.
Hand-outs and maps will be provided.

Judy Garland Concert with Robyn Vitson

Robyn Vitson returns to take you on a magical journey down the
yellow brick road to Emerald City en route to Kansas to her beloved
home. Fans still love this movie after 80 years and Robyn has a
wonderful tribute planned! Sponsored by Friends of the Library
Adult Summer Reading Program begins June 3! Stop by the Adult Services Reference
Desk to sign up and receive your reading log and a kick -off prize! Open to participants
ages 14 and older. Read or listen to five books checked out from OBPL. Upon completion,
participants will be entered into a drawing sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

This database is chock-full of information for our OBPL
patrons. Record Information Services is a data compiler of
Northern Illinois public records.
Whether you are a homeowner researching individual
property transactions, foreclosures, or a business owner who
wants to do marketing, the Public Record Database is an
invaluable tool. You can search for newly filed bankruptcies,
mortgage transactions, business licenses, real estate
transactions and more.
It also gives patrons the ability to do quick Illinois
background checks on individuals and businesses in the
State of Illinois at an affordable price. The database is 100%
safe and completely confidential.

This is a perfect program to introduce little ones to the library.
We’ll enjoy some good books, sing songs, dance, do
fingerplays and more! We’ll also make crafts which are related
to the theme of the day. A parent or caregiver must stay with
children during the program.

In this exciting global workshop, a Dancing with
Class Teaching Artist will take the kids on a journey to
Mumbai India, home of Bollywood! Here, they will create their own movie star
characters, learn a fun and energetic Bollywood routine and perform it on

Bumble Bee Yoga

This fun introduction to yoga will teach basic poses. Stories
