1. CALL TO ORDER
The Regular Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was called to order by President Gopal Lalmalani
at the Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club at 7:08 pm.
A. Welcome
President Lalmalani welcomed everyone to the meeting and swearing-in ceremony. He said that he was
delighted to see so many in attendance to celebrate the swearing-in of the newly re-elected Board
members. He also informed everyone that he had moved a few items on the agenda. Item 8
(Adjournment Sine Die) is removed and Item 9 (Swearing in Ceremony) as well as Item 10 (Roll Call of
New Village Board), would be moved up to Presidents Opening Comments. A brief business meeting
would follow the swearing-in ceremony.
B. Colors Posted by Honor Guard
The Honor Guard from both the Fire Department and Police Department opened the ceremony by
presenting the colors.
C. Pledge of Allegiance
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by the Honor Guard.
D. Invocation—Daniel Meyer
President Lalmalani presented Reverend Dr. Daniel Meyer and gave a background story of his career
and family. Reverend Dr. Meyer began the ceremony with an opening prayer.
E. Opening Remarks and Introductions
President Lalmalani then introduced the Honorable Justice Ann Jorgensen, who would administer the
Oaths of Office, and gave a brief biography of her career.

President Lalmalani gave his opening remarks and spoke about his vision for the the next 4 years.
5. RESIDENT/VISITOR COMMENT
Resident Ray Cesca spoke regarding the ethylene oxide emissions from the Sterigenics plant in
Willowbrook. Puja Mohindra said that she would like to see a committee for women's priorities,values,
and needs. Moon Kahn spoke regarding the diversity in the Village of Oak Brook. Resident Dr. Abbasy
talked about how family-friendly Oak Brook is a place to live.

Motion by Trustee Saiyed,seconded by Trustee Cuevas, to approve the Minutes of the Special
Executive Closed Meeting Minutes of February 26,2019. VOICE VOTE: Motion carried.
B. Special Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes of April 23, 2019
Motion by Trustee Manzo,seconded by Trustee Yusuf, to approve the Minutes of the Special
Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes of April 23,2019. VOICE VOTE: Motion carried.
C. Regular Board of Trustees Meeting of April 23, 2019
Motion by Trustee Manzo,seconded by Trustee Cuevas, to approve the Minutes of the Regular
Board of Trustees Meeting of April 23,2019 VOICE VOTE: Motion carried.

All items on the Consent Agenda are considered to be routine in nature and will be enacted in one motion.
There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Board member so requests, in which event,

Motion by Trustee Baar,seconded by Trustee Cuevas,to approve the Consent Agenda,with the
exception of Item 7. C.2., and authorize expenditures as presented.

Trustee Tiesenga said that because the ordinance language has not been fully agreed upon, he would like
to defer this item to the next Board meeting.
Motion by Trustee Tiesenga,seconded by Trustee Manzo to defer the item to the next Board
meeting.
VOICE VOTE: Motion carried.
9. ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Trustee Cuevas, seconded by Trustee Yusuf,to adjourn the Regular Meeting of the
Board of Trustees at 7:59 p.m. VOICE VOTE: Motion carried.
