Sports Core Drainage Study
Dear Mr. Patchin:
As requested, Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd. (CBBEL) proposes to complete a drainage
study for the Oak Brook Sports Core in the Village of Oak Brook (Village). The drainage study will be
bounded by the Soccer Fields on the east, Golf Course on the north, 3131 Street on the south and
Salt Creek on the west. An aerial exhibitof the study area is attached to this proposal.
UNDERSTANDING OF ASSIGNMENT
It is our understanding that the Village wishes to better understand the existing drainage at the
Sports Core Facility and identify the stormwater management requirements for potential future
development within the parcel. The first step will bean existing field investigation to identify culverts,
storm sewers and other drainage features within the study area. A hydrologic model will be
developed using this information to analyze the existing drainage system and determine peak
flowrates and flood elevations at critical locations within the study area. This will specifically include
the Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club parking lot and facility.
Using the existing conditions hydrologic model and information from the Village regarding future
development, we will quantify stormwater detention and water quality volumes and concept
stormwater management systems for up to two future development scenarios.
The results of the analysis will be summarized in a technical memorandum with exhibits.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Task 1 — Site Visit and Drainage Structure Identification: CBBEL will perform a site visit to
Identify the storm sewers and hydraulic features within the study area. We anticipate two field
personnel will spend one day identifying, locating and measuring the drainage structures. This task
will not include survey of these features or work by a survey crew. The DuPage County 2 -foot
topographic mapping and information provided by the Village will be utilized for all topographic data
for the study. We will also request information from DuPage County Division of Transportation
(DuDOT) for the stormwater basins along 3151 Street
Task 2 — Hvdroloaic Analysis: Using the information from Task 1, a hydrologic model will be

critical locations within the study area, including the outlet points and depressional storage areas
regulated by the DuPage County Stormwater Ordinance (Ordinance)
Task 3 - Stonnwater Mana ementAnal sis: CBBEL will determine the stormwatermanagement
requirements for up to two future development scenarios provided by the Village. The stormwater
detention and Post Construction Best Management Practices (PCBMPs) will be quantified as well as
any fill within the floodplain of Salt Creek and depressional storage areas. If necessary, the existing
conditions hydrologic model will be updated to complete proposed conditions hydrologic modeling
and verify compliance with the Ordinance requirements.
Task 4 - Technical Memorandum: We will summarize the results of the study in a technical
memorandum with calculations, modeling results, and exhibits
Task 5_ rytnps: We anticipate three meetings; a kickoff meeting, status update meeting and final
meeting to discuss the study results. A Water Resources engineer will attend each meeting.

We estimate the costs of the services to be the following:
We would like to establish our contract in accordance with the Village of Oak Brook's approved
Engineering Services Agreement, Rider No. 1, General Terms and Conditions and Standard
Charges.
It is understood that this agreement may be terminated by either party upon 60 days written notice.

notice to proceed.
