DEAN BOARD ROOM BUTLER GOVERNMENT CENTER 1200 OAK BROOK ROAD OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS 630-368-5000 AGENDA ITEM Regular Board of Trustees Meeting of June 11, 2019 SUBJECT: Surplus Property FROM: Rania Serences, Senior Purchasing Assistant BUDGET SOURCE/BUDGET IMPACT: N/A RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move that the Village Board adopt the attached ordinance authorizing the sale of a surplus ambulance. Background/History: The attached ordinance authorizes the sale of an ambulance from the Fire Department that has reached the end of its useful life and was replaced with a newer model. The ambulance is a 2006 International 4300, built by Horton Emergency Vehicles Company. To obtain the greatest resale amount for the surplus ambulance, staff will register it on iBid and GovDeals, both online auction sites. If inadequate or no bids are received through the online auctions, the surplus ambulance will be disposed of properly. Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Village Board adopt the attached ordinance authorizing the sale of a surplus ambulance. ITEM 6.E.3 ORDINANCE 2019-PP-S-1572 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE THROUGH ELECTRONIC AUCTION OR BROKER, OR DISPOSAL OF CERTAIN ITEMS OF PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK WHEREAS, in the opinion of a majority of the corporate authorities, it is no longer necessary or useful or in the best interests of the Village to retain the item of personal property listed below; and WHEREAS, the Village wishes to dispose of said property by sale through electronic auction or broker, or disposal; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows: Section 1: The foregoing recitals are incorporated herein as findings of the corporate authorities. Section 2: Pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/11-76-4, the President and Board of Trustees find that the item listed below, now owned by the Village, is surplus property and is no longer necessary or useful to the Village and the best interests of the Village will be served by its sale through electronic auction or broker. Section 3: Pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/11-76-4, the Village Manager is hereby authorized and directed to dispose of the above items by sale through electronic auction or broker, if possible, or by disposal if sale is not possible. Section 4: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law.
