SUBJECT: Surplus Property
FROM: Rania Serences, Senior Purchasing Assistant
BUDGET SOURCE/BUDGET IMPACT: N/A
RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move that the Village Board adopt the attached
ordinance authorizing the sale of surplus items.
Background/History:
The attached ordinance authorizes the sale of vehicles and office furniture from various
departments that have reached the end of their useful lives or have been replaced with
newer models.
As part of the Vehicle Lease Agreement with Enterprise Fleet Management, Inc., they will
sell the vehicles at auction. All proceeds from the auction will be given to the Village
minus a $400 administrative fee per vehicle.
Staff will register the surplus furniture with iBid, an online auctioneer run by the State of
Illinois. If no bids are received through the online auction, staff will first reach out to non-
profit organizations to donate, then, any remaining items will be disposed of properly.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends that the Village Board adopt the attached ordinance authorizing the sale
of surplus items.
